Bought a 2005 C55

Hello-

As the title states I just purchased a 2005 C55, black on black with 75K. Great car. I was given the maintenance history from the previous owner and it seems it was maintained very well. The main seal was addressed, thurst arm bushing, etc.

One thing I would like to change are the rims. They are have some curb rash on them. I found a vendor who carries the C55 rims for a great price, $274 a piece, however, it states they are 17 inch rims. The rims on the car are 18" but the car is a 2005. Did they sell the 2005 C55 with 17inch rims?

This is the vendor's site:

http://www.midwestwheelandtire.com/s...=C55&year=2005

When I search for 2006 their site does not find any rims. Just wondering if the 2005 did indeed come with 17inch rims and if anyone knows a vendor who sells the 18" C55 rims for a decent price.

By the way, I also have a 2006 white on black C230 sport. The C55 as you guys know is a completely different beast.

Thanks
Pete

The C55 came with 18'' rims. The 17''s (like those found on the C32) will fit, however, but they will look quite small on the C55..

Ok thanks. Seems to be tough finding OEM 18" AMG C55 wheels then. Maybe go with some aftermarket deep dish.

If I may, the CLK 63 AMG rim style looks very good on a C55 -- either in 18'' or 19''.

A fair amount of replica wheel websites sell C55 knock-off rims. These aren't quite the same style, but pretty close.

And then there is this site. I considered purchasing snow tire rims off this site but never went through with it. Not sure if these are OEM or not but they are the right style:

The 17's will look a tad undersized, but they'll still look sharp on there.

Congrats on the purchase!

Congratulations on the purchase! You will love the car. Also, these forums are a great source of information.

Yes, these forms are filled with a ton of good information.

I am also looking for the cdc magazine. Mine did not come with it. Do I need to get this from the dealer?

The dealer should be able to get it. If you can find out who makes the CD player, you may be able to get a magazine cheaper on the internet. I don't recall the brand off the top of my head, but there should be a label on it somewhere.
