The only way to do it is to manually put it in dyno mode every time, but you lose abs and a few other functions as well. I think you can drive in dyno mode, but I don't remember why it wasn't recommended.

I've read this over and over again and I think some of you guys must have some really bad tires. A guy from this forum and I both track our cars, and even in dyno mode it's not easy to make the wheels spin. I can break traction if I try hard by brake boosting to about 2000rpm. Aside from that, they usually just chrip and I'm off. I've read of people spinning their tires in 3rd gear on a stock car with dyno mode on. BS! Honestly, lay off the cheap china/korean made tires. Get some good tires like RE-11's and see what happens. I see a lot of people with Hankook V12's or Yoko S-drives, budget tires belong on lightweight cars with smaller engines, not our cars. There's plenty tire width in the rear to deal with the power our cars output.

Dyno mode specifically disables ABS, TC, ESP and BAS. This means that there is no brake assits. I prefer this as the brake pedal feels a lot more direct. You could always pull the fuse, though I have not tried this. I like ABS. I can live without the rest. I hate feeling the sudden thud in the rear as the rear brakes are applied automatically when the rear end is about to step out. Happens quite often now with the H&R rear sway set to full stiff.

I think these guys are talking about a C55 not a C32. I have Kumho Ecsta XS tires in a 265/35x18 rear and I can easily light up the rears from a stand still with no brake torque on the street with just the ESP de-activated.

Dyno Mode Disable
My 03 will stay in dyno mode even after shutting the car off and restarting. I believe this is possible only on 03-04's.
Edit -Subject line should read Dyno Mode Permanent Enable
BTW, I'm the "other guy" Autotechnica mentioned. I cannot "ROAST" the tires if they are warmmed up from a stand still. Only by power braking - not recommended. The car is not a dog in a straight line as several surprised high end cars have found out at the track.

My car is fine. Dyno'd not too long ago at 300whp/333trq stock. Nobody is really listing what tires they have. I can spin the tires if I brake boost, hammering it off the line without brake boosting after the tires are warm does nothing but chirp the tires. Again, try a decent set of tires. Sub $250/tire isn't decent IMO.

Starting the car with control systems on is a government requirement upon engine startup for all new cars.
Plus, I personally don't see a benefit. Traction control has probably saved me a few times without even knowing it.

I switch the ESP on the dash off pretty much every time I drive but never in the wet. Recently the brother inlaw destroyed his car in the wet sweeping a turn with cruise control on his car slipped and he claims no assists kicked in until too late (cruise control?) Resulted in 20k damage on the bimmer. With the ESP off in the dry the c32 is great fun (good year F1's stick but cant harness an angry amg) ESP off will still kick in when its hits the edge but allows the car to spin and not bog down at take off etc... but I dont have the ***** to play without ESP on in the wet and am a little scared of the dyno mode also.

I'll agree good tires are a must. When my car was stock, with the Michelins it wouldn't spin off the line. Plus they ride great. Good tires are worth the money every time.

tire spin
im running continental extreme contacts on my c32. I can easily spin the tires in 1st with just a shot of throttle moving or stopped . Hard acceleration from 20 mph will spin the tires and the traction control will flash well into 2nd gear. These are supposed to be good tires for day to day driving.

I wish I could be more specific but I didn't have to pay for mine so I don't know the exact breakdown and I'm not about to ask the generous party to show me a full print out of cost.
