I will be sending out my TCU to EC within a week. I will talk to Jerry about the best way to integrate it with the Stage 2 tune installed late last year. I think I will have EC set the rev limiter of the TCU 100 to 200 rpms lower than the ECU in hopes of not having this problem on max redline shifting. I look forward to hearing his take on this.

So what ever happened with the V2? Did it clear up the issue?

If you mean the hitting the rev limiter at the shift point then yes it is fixed in the C32.

I sent mine in a while back with regards to the AFR spike. Jerry said he had fixed it a while ago. Hopefully this is the case...

I've been giving thought to this mod, but want to make sure the bugs are worked out. I was curious about the spike, as well as bouncing off the rev limiter.

Spoke with Jerry today...I guess the issue with the fuel spike is only when you have the shift points raised to higher RPM's. Which was my case at 6600, so back to 6250 and fuel spike is gone.

Weird, that's not what I was told... My car still shifts at 6.5k. I just don't know what to think any more about this software...

Well I guess that since there is no software for the ECU when the transmission is revving higher the ECU goes wack when the car revs higher than it should (afr spikes). They have to find or write software for the ECU to know what to do when the TCU revs higher I think. either way, Id rather be safe than sorry so I'll be happy with the M mode and faster shifts with the stock shift points for now.

I guess the only way to really know what your car is doing is to data log.

So is there any noticeable difference in having the torque limiter raised?

I have the ECU and TCU tune and I didn't notice any torque limiter difference? Sure the car feels faster, but it should because I installed a E/C S/C pulley as well. Not sure what the whole "removing torque limiter" statement even means.

I don't know if this is correct or if it answers your question. I wanted to know also but could not find any info on the forum. I believe raising the maximum level of allowable torque will stop the engine reducing power when it is exceeded (ie when modified). I guess it is to protect the tansmission? Typically happens near redline and could be confused with fuel cut on a turbocharged car or a harsh gear change.

Makes sense. I wish we had a more concrete info about the tcu tune. It seems a lot of information is up in the air.

Should I send my TCU in for a tune? I was thinking of sending it next weekend.
Are all the problems ironed out?

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want the higher shift points or manual mode then I say yes. If you keep the stock shift points and could care less about M mode then I would not.

I don't use the manual mode but the higher shift points make the thing scream during shifts. It comes at a price which is during around town average driving the transmission shifts too soon. It will shift quickly from 1st to 2nd to 3rd before hitting 20 mph and then if you want to pickup speed the motor is bogging and it takes an inch or more of throttle to get it to downshift. Never did this stock.

Zepplin, you have mentioned something that I never understood about the TCU tune. When driving in S or C it shifts through gears ridiculously quick to the point where the motor is bogging so hard... Do you know why this was done? For this reason, I NEVER drive it in auto... It's just horrible sounding

To clarify - my car with the TCU tune upshifts at light throttle much sooner than the stock TCU. For example accelerating from a stoplight at light throttle it will shift to 2nd and then 3rd gear at 1500rpm. So if you then decide you want to go faster you are in 3rd gear at 1500rpm and the car is sluggish (1500rpm = no wonder it is slugglish). You then have to push down about a inch on the throttle to get it to downshift.

I have not heard this complaint from anyone else so maybe it is just my car.

Well no, my car does the exact same thing. It goes through gears quick and shifts at 1500RPM every time at light throttle. My car does the same exact thing. I thought it was only my car lol I guess not.
