If anybody's interested in my car...

I'll be putting it up for sale. Just wanted to give the forum some advance notice. It's been fun, but I just bought a new CTS-V and don't have a need for both.

2005
34,1xx miles
$22k priced to sell

I'm very **** about my cars, so when I tell you it's clean...it's CLEAN. I personally did a full detail on the car's paint in the spring, including polishing out 95% of the spider-webbing & marring in the paint. The car is protected with Meznerna Power Lock sealant and P21S 100% carnauba wax. It's always kept in the garage. All cosmetic imperfections will be disclosed to the buyer as they should be. I can assure you...they're few and far between and they're things that a normal person would probably never pay any mind to. But as I said, I'm very particular.

Car has all books & records...both keys. I have a comprehensive service history of the vehicle that was sent to me by a friend who works for Mercedes Benz. I will forward that to you. It had one owner prior to myself. Oil was just changed by me personally...9 fresh quarts of Mobil 1 0W40 and new filter & seals.

The only "mods" are clear reflectors and the Netherlands setting which enables beeping when locking/unlocking the vehicle. Car has all options except for navigation.

If you know anyone who's interested or if you're interested, please shoot me a message.

Regards,
Matt

That is a very fair price for the mileage and condition - plus it has the bi-xenons (COMAND as well?). Had your car been available a month ago I actually would have considered it! Just picked up an SRT-6 last weekend, however. GLWT.

I know. I was actually at Mercedes looking at ordering a C63 and then I stopped by Cadillac next door....the rest, as they say, is history.

About to go take pics right now...will post up shortly.

I don't think there's a better one on the market for less money. No nav...everything else. Love those SRT-6 Crossfires. Enjoy it!

you're right on the "priced to sell" part. i personally think you could pull an extra 3-5k for it regardless of what others think or say.

Agree. Perhaps I'll list it on Autotrader for more. Nevertheless, that offer still stands for members. I really just want it to go to a good, loving home.

Here are some pics. Car is a 6-speed manual. All options except for polished wheels & sunroof....in other words, perfect.

Excellent! Good call on staying with the sedan, I really don't like the look of the coupe. I drove an old body style (2005) for a day about 6 months after I bought my C55 and couldn't believe I forgot about them when I was looking to get out of my C230. It would have been a really tough call if I had remembered, the C55 is definitely better looking but the manual trans and more power would have been calling my name.

And damn if your pictures still look way better than mine! Do you do any editing in photoshop?

Yeah, you know...I find the coupe very intriguing and I love that the design is polarizing and unique. But to actually own...I just couldn't commit.

The first gen cars are a blast as well. The C55 has better build quality and a more solid feel to it though. But yes, the LS6 or LS2 (depending on year), along with the 6 speed manual make it an equally tempting proposition.

haha As always, plenty of help from photoshop. Send me a picture whenever you want and I'll see if I can work some magic. mgarrets1013@gmail.com

It's an LSA, but yes excellent choice! Basically the same engine as the ls9 with a different blower.

My car has an LSA. The first gen (04-07) have either an LS6 or LS2....91RS was talking about a 2005 model he drove, which has an LS6.

Now that is something I didn't know. The one I drove must have been an 06 then because I know it was a 6.0L. Unfortunately that is the only CTS-V I've worked on/driven. Though, I have also worked on/driven an XLR-V with the supercharged Northstar (4.4L) and that thing was pretty bad ***.

I'll go through my pictures tonight send you one. I guess more people than I realize use Photoshop, because I've been trying to get pictures that look like that straight from the camera and I suppose that isn't possible without spending huge money on glass.

Photoshop is magic.

To the OP, I think you can sell it quickly at the price you set it at, and sell slower at a higher price; say $25K or $26K. If you're not in a rush, I would post it in the typical avenues (autotrader.com, craigslist, classifieds here on the forum) for $26K.

Definitely a pampered, well taken care of C55! GLWS man!

How are you liking the P21S? Does it work really well on top of Menz PL?

I once tried topping off my Menz PL with Meg#26 but it streaked like crazy! This was after I allowed the PL to dry for 24 hours. I'm thinking of trying Zymol Carbon, but I've been just too lazy to order.

Also, how often do you top off PL with carnauba? Do you PL every one or two months, then carnauba every week or so?

No worries, Michael! I figured there was just some confusion.

The wagon's are so sick. Definitely upload!

I got your email. Those pics look really good man (as does the car!)...I'll play with them and send em to you.

I used to take tons of pictures in the hopes of getting that one perfect shot. The reality is, even a perfect shot with most cameras will still leave something to be desired. Best to worry about a clear, focused shot with good composition and let photoshop correct color, shadows, exposure, etc...

Yeah, I think I'll get it up on Autotrader to tomorrow. Not sure how to price though.

Thanks Ryan! You know, I love the P21S and have used it for years. It works well enough on top of power lock but truth be told, I'm finding that power lock honestly makes using a wax redundant. It provides a ridiculously wet shine, goes on super easy, comes off super easy and is durable beyond belief.

My car lives mostly in the garage when its not being driven...that is, it doesn't really sit outside exposed to the elements for extended periods of time. So I don't find a need to wax it but more than maybe once a month.

Alright Darrell, here's one quick example. This shot of yours has excellent composition...the angle of the car, how it's centered in the shot, etc... Easily the best of the 3.

But it has way too much blue saturation in it...that needs to go bye bye. I warmed up the temp (makes things more yellow/orange), increased exposure, sharpened, increased blacks slightly, increased brightness, increased contrast, desaturated the blue, desaturated the yellow, oversaturated the red and put a vignette on it to darken the corners.

Of course it all depends on the look you're going for.

That one has been my favorite out of all the pictures I've even taken of this car, I still have it was my background on my computer even though it's an older picture (still has stock brakes). Your adjustments definately look much better.
