Hi from Australia, just became a proud C55 owner.

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a C55 (3 days ago) and am very impressed! It's my first Merc, as I have always been a GM supporter :P but it's impossible to compare the two.

On a side note - I would really like to boost the car, but with turbo's, rather than sc. I have read through countless threads, and it looks like quite a difficult task from what I've seen so far... but I'm up for the challenge. (I will leave this for another thread, however)

Thanks! I like the front lip and HRE's together, but I'll hold off untill the tires need changing.
Do the KW's make a noticable difference? As the car seems quite stiff/low at the moment, although it can get sloppy at high speeds.

Congrats, also looking for one myself in Australia. Where did you get it from? It looks like one I had a look at in Melb but at that stage I could not prove the service history.

Nice car, how does it compare to the HSV? That would be the main competitor to this sort of car in NZ and aussie.

Welcome to the club. I think the C55 has an almost perfect suspension for every day use, only thing I would want is to lower it a tad in the front.

Yes, IMHO, the KW v2's, make a huge difference in the C55's handling -- set to KW factory spec's for our car they are more comfortable than OE and sharper around corners, etc. The mod is so good I still do not feel the need for thicker sways.

I my application, however, I had to grind down two number 4 OE spring pads flat on both sides to raise the height of the rear KW v2's to keep the raked look and to provide clearance for my IForged wheels that are a little wider and 10mm out from stock (lower offset and 5mm spacers to clear bigger rear calipers). Easy to do and cheap. Just make these "washers" before you have the KW's installed.

I purchased the exact car you speak of, it was for sale at Melbourne City Jaguar . I also noticed the lack of recorded service history, however, the car was in excellent condition and they let it go at a more reasonable price than advertised.
There are two other black C55's FS still, one has only 50,000kms and his asking price was $54k.

Having been a HSV fanboy for many years, I can say that for the money you pay, you get a lot of car! That said, the build quality compared to the C55 (or most euro cars) is terrible! Not to mention the inherent software issues, and premature component failures that come along with the Holden/HSV.

Tell me about it! There isn't really any support for these in Aus

I will give them a call, but I think they really only focus on Ford/Holden

Hey Pat,
Good pick up, you must have beaten me by a few days, I had the car booked for a PPI but then they told me they took a deposit. BTW I spoke to the previous owner in QLD, I was concerned about the car moving states from QLD but he explained a good reason as to why the car ended up in Melbourne. Also confirmed some of the recent Service History with MB Agent in Qld.
I had a look at the Black/blue one, can you give me a link/contact or similar to the other black one.

Hmm, it may have sold - I can't find it on carsales anymore. It was fairly pricey from memory $69k asking price, and it was an 06' with low Km's.
It's weird, there are so few of these up for sale...

Fantastic car. It's better than new. It cost less. Get to know your tire dealer. Backs last about 12K-14K (miles). Fronts about twice as long but you will tear the outer edges off pretty fast. Resonator delete is a cheap mod and it sounds so nice. Engine is easier to SC. Kleeman makes a complete kit.

Grats on your new C55 purchase!

Sorry, if i sound ignorant, I just got a C55 myself. The C55 already sits really really low compared to any car out there stock. I'm curious to know how your experience was with lowering the front with your equipment.
