Car keeps stalling, anyone have this? CPS, Fuel Pump?
I was driving home today, driving slow and the car just cutout. I had to coast to a stop and it wouldn't start backup although it would turn over just fine. After about ten minutes it did start backup, but about a mile down the road it just died again. Belt is intact, no error messages and it wasn't running hot. I had no previous indcation or problems prior.
Any ideas? I'm not familiar with CPS issues, but that does come to mind. If fuel pump it sure didn't act like it was dying and the fact that it did start back up and let me drive is leading me away from that. Seems to be just not getting spark...no idea at this point.

It's the cps, once the cps goes bad and gets warm then the car won't start or die. When the cps cools down the car will start up with no problem. Pain in the butt to replace, but a very cheap part.

Thanks. It's actually sitting at the dealer now...which is killing my pride (as I've only used a mechanic and never to a dealer a couple tomes in 20 years..usually in dead of winter)...but just have a lot of crap going on.
At any rate...I didnt' check codes, I have an intermittent check engine light due to evap (my gas cap triggers it, just never fixed it) so don't know if there is a new code out there.
Sounds like CPS is culprit. We'll see what they want to charge to replace, if its nuts I'll just have it towed home and do it in my garage.

ehh $390 CPS install...they found it t be what we all thought as well... I was already in $150 for dropping it off there and would have paid anotther $75-100 getting it towed home to fix it myself, so I just told them to do it. IN middle of huge DIY kitchen rebuild so just can't pull off anything new for a while (but it still kills me having someone do it for me....my azz hurts!!)
