C55 in Feb 2004! (with CLK Headlamps!)

"With the Facelift of the C-class in February 2004 C will replace 55 AMG V8 to C 32 AMG V6 compressor in the sedan and in the t-model. Allegedly AMG the 5ër AMG V8 is to have still somewhat more HP than in the current CLK 55 AMG expenditure for. Besides C 55 AMG is to stand out against the other C-class variants more strongly. Therefore he gets the headlights of the CLK, while variants the well-known headlights receive the other C-class however in clear glass optics. "
MB is trying its best to keep the competition under its thumb!!
Then I stepped back to think of some reasonings as to why I shouldn't change my car.
1. I will lose a lot of Money on the trade!
Might as well bring a jar of vaseline and a big pole to the dealer when I change over.
2. 5.5 V8 and CLK headlights? Why dont I just get a CLK 55 if thats the case.
3. This will make our C32 even more unique.
4. for about 5k, evosport will push my car to around 420hp. 5k spent on the V8 wont get you anywhere near 420hp.
but man, I would love to have the sound of a V8 rumbling under my hood.
oh well.....

all I know is that the C 55 will be available in the states too. But replacing the V6 kompressor with a V8 doesn´t mean that the C 55 will be faster then the C 32.
The V8 Kompressor won´t fit in the C-Class. I don´t think that the W203.066 {C 55} will be an answer for the M3 CLS. Every AMG car was replaced by another for example: C36 and C 43 {later the C 55 W202 exclusive series}.
About the unique thing: Ronald told us a lot about that but I still think that it will get collectors value after a time. Many C 32 will be crashed
Try to keep them original.Regards,
See page 18 in July CAR for all the details (no, I can't scan now as the scanner is at the office).
Also says the E55 will be replaced with a 6.3 litre version in 2006 producing 600 hp. There goes the M5! E- and S-class cars will be getting a 7 speed auto from later this year.
Enjoy the supercharged V6 boys, for it's soon to be a collector's item. Looking at it another way, there's some exciting product heading our way!
Will the new C55 be faster ... not much if they do not change the weight of the car.
The report I read on the 7 speed said is was destined for the bigger cars, but also said it is similar size and weight to current 5 speed, due to design and magnesium construction. So I guess it might fit the C class too.
A 7 speed speedshift with an AMG V8 in a C class - I could live with that!
the current CLK55 in not faster than the C32. Stock to stock the CLK55 does 24.5 sg a Km, and the C32 24.3, also 0-60 the C32 is a bit quicker.
Now if you up-grade the C32 well (ODPS+ECU+may be headers) with 420 hp and more that 410 ft-lb.
The current CLK55 you may just chip it and get 388 hp and 390 ft-lb torque ( http://www.hs-elektronik.com/datenbl...7ps-510nm.html ) but no more for a cheap price. However, just speaking with Brandom (Kleemann USA) the same day that I dynoed my car (he has after that to dyno the awesome Joe55’s CLK55K ), he told me and I just confirmed at http://www.kleemann.dk/cars/models/clk/f_w209.htm if the AMG makes the C55 with the CLK 5.4 V8 engine, thus we may gave the chance to get a 2004-5 C55K (klemmatizated US $19,000 with installation) with 404 KW / 550 BHP - at 5800 rpm & 710 NM (523 lb-ft) - from 2000 rpm, simple a MONSTER fetting 19’’ AMG wheels and so on. The C55K will be a total investment of I would say 56k+19=75K (if money is not a issue and you want to be unique) like the E55 but for sure more quick, fast & fun to drive, but a gain depends of how much space you need.
Finally, I guess for performance wise, I prefer to keep my C32 by now, but for sure the C55 will have more sexapell and more options to go......I was a C43 owner, and I must say I miss that car in some how.
Lastly, for me perhaps cound be an option for C32 users go for $10,000 with a 3.8 V6 conversion (with ODPS+ECU you may get 450 hp and 450 ft.lb) :0 , than loss that money trading the car. For me replace my C-class AMG version will be with the new body on 2006 the W204.
Did anyone think that AMG was going to let Audi step on their DI
!!!

Where did you find that? If this is true im going to my dealer this weekend.
