C55 Exhaust Tip Swap - Anyone done it?
Hey guys, just wanted to put a feeler out to see who (if anyone) has swapped their C55 exhaust tips for the larger, more oval tips as found on the C63, E63, CLS63, etc.? I love the look of mine, but was contemplating what larger but similarly shaped tips would look like? And cost?
Since members on here have done almost everything imaginable to their w203s, figured it was worth asking the experts!![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
Thx!

I've always wondered about that also. I know you can purchase OEM exhaust tips from other AMG models (CLK/SLK/S/E) via EBAY. You would have to do some custom cutting and welding but you might be able to squeeze them in. There's not a lot of room in the existing bumper cutouts but it may be possible. Of course, you could go the aftermarket route and get bigger ones but nothing like using original ones with AMG stamped on them....

I've got a C32, but I recently got my exhaust done and my tips are slightly bigger than my buddies C55 (michael kuzni). I think it looks good, but the change is so marginal IMO.
Cost wise for the tips, around $150 for both... Maybe another $40 or so in labor to weld the new ones on.
My exhaust cutout is the OEM size on both sides so there is room for bigger tips.

The C55 F1 safety car had the larger tips...and frankly, I don't think it looks all that great on the back of the C-class. Maybe it's just the picture though, as I love those big oval AMG tips.

I think if they were pushed out more laterally than medially it would look better.

On my last C55 I had the larger tips. I used the SLK55 tips I got from ebay. It was a lot of work because it wasnt plug and play(weld).
Basically means:
1.The Bumper had to be cut out
2. The distance between the original tips was to small. So they had to weld in new pipes from the muffler to the tips.
As mentioned before, the tips looked a little too big on the C55. Thats why they will stay original on my current C55.
Have fun with the pics...
