c55 dyno and problems.

I made a topic a while back about my buddy's C55 that I couldn't get it to spin it's tires if my life depended on it and it felt slow.

A few days ago, on my way to the dyno, behold, the car would spin it's tires from a stop with EASE! WTF? It NEVER did this before and now it does it every time.

So I put it on the dyno and got this:

It had a renntech airbox and secondaries removed...nothing more. Look at the A/F ratio...it's STUPID lean. The cars Long Term Fuel Trims are also very high ( +17 to +19 ). Yet I get no codes with the scanner.

I took the maf out today and cleaned it up real good and put everything back real nice and the LTFT don't change, they are still really high.

Not only that, but now that car won't spin it's tires again.

And get this, today I installed Kleeman headers and a complete dual exhaust....now the car feels EVEN SLOWER....WTF?

What should I check?

Hey, I'm not dyno expert, but those numbers look fairly low. Especially for a dynojet which generally reads higher numbers than a mustang of dyno dynamics.

If I'm not mistaken, C32's baseline anywhere from 280 to 300 wheel. I would expect a bit more from a C55. It also seems like your getting more torque than horsepower which is odd. I know from the factory C55's like C32's have more BHP than TQ.

Hopefully someone with more insight can chime in and help you out, but a C55 should not feel slow by any means.

I wonder if the car ever had a tune on it, I would see about getting a new tune for the car. I have only had my C55 for a few months, but have yet to do any performance modification and I have not really noticed any lack of power.

The car WAS running nitrous before...I wonder if the person de-tuned it for the nitrous....hmmmmmm.

No ideas?

The car is a total DOG! Yet drives fine at part throttle ( except the LTFT's being super high, the car drives perfectly fine ).

Thats very low
stock it should pull 294-296 maybe even more, and with an airbox a lot more
https://mbworld.org/forums/c32-amg-c...ch-airbox.html
This airbox is in my car right now.
Those numbers are just the airbox, no exhaust mod.

Those #s are very typical of what I've seen on stock C55s. They all seem to range from 280-300 depending on the dyno used. Dynos vary dramatically, so I wont get into that discussion other than to say that some dynos are total B.S. Others can be very accurate. Depends on inputting and operator.

Possibility of a burnt piston or bent valves from the nitrous. Its dangerous to use if you can't supply enough fuel or spark. Have you ever watched a redneck hook it up to his boat anchor 350 cheby and then blow the heads off?

That car has been a lot better lately. I found that it had a nasty leak after the MAF and fixed it. Now it'll spin it's tires with ease once again.

Next week, Eurocharged tune and back to the dyno.
