I don't know about you, but I hate the break bad dust the OEM pads give off on our cars. Even after only a few days your rims look like crap.
I'd recommend getting some Akabonos. A good amount of drivers here on the forum use them. I use them personally and have no complaints overall.

a car that can't do the throttle reset.

I purchased mine from Amazon for a decent price.
You asked about the downside and for me personally - the only thing I notice is less "bite". Some may disagree but I feel Akabonos don't quite grab like the OEM breaks do. But honestly there is plenty of breaking power. I've never had an issue slowing down for 100 plus. Plus side? Very easy install and break dust is almost non existent. Don't forget to grab yourself some new sensor by the way.
Not sure if you've changed the pads on this car before but there is only one sensor and it's on the passenger side.

Awesome. Thanks BB. I think I might actually give them a shot. I don't track my car so a little less grab is OK by me. Cleaning the wheels every week sucks.

Bought my C32 rotors from there last week actually. They were reasonably priced ( $112 per rotor) They are based out of Alpharetta GA, shipping label said MB of North Atlanta.
I got my pads from rockauto.com, got the ceramic posi quiets, Have been on there for a week and have had no issues with them at all and my wheels are still clean!

Thanks Southernwake. Will check out that link for OEM stuff. Still deciding if I should go stock or Akebonos. Just want to know if the Akebonos make noise or not.

For any parts I've had multiple success with both AutohausAZ and RMEuropean.
As for OEM pads, I wouldn't do it. I'm very happy with the Akebono's low dusting. The OEM pads are not as linear and harder, so some adjustment to how you brake is necessary. Search for an Akebono thread in my name for more info.

Thanks Viper. Read all your threads. The zero dust sounds good, but you got me scared with your posts about it feeling almost absent braking feel.

I went with the centric pads, my dad has put them on his E320 and my mom's SLK230.
He likes their ceramic pads. I have been fairly impressed with them. They are quiet and stop fairly well, they dont bite as hard as stock when you initially press the pedal but they grab a lot better once they have been heated up and if you have to stomp on the brakes ( already had to) they grab very well!! I have put 700 miles on the car since i did the brakes and there is virtually no brake dust on my wheels.
I have heard good things about the Akebonos, havent tried them personally but not opposed to using them.

I used the cheapest pep boys pads they had when I changed mine over 100,000 miles ago. those pads + brand new rotors have lasted 100,000 miles and the best part is they don't wear down the rotor. the rotors were shot with the stock pads at only 40,000 miles.

Last weekend, I installed Brake Best ceramic pads from O'Reilly. They were $78 with shipping. Simple installation, except I used the stock backing plates instead of the supplied ones, which were too wide, so I couldn't slide the pads into the calipers.
So far, they're noticeably grabbier than the stock pads and really haul the car down quickly. I'm sure the brake dust will be negligible.
