can't put c32 in park

I can't put my 02 C32 in park. Works on all other gears, I also did the button by cup holder but that didn't help any.

Any help appreciated

The lever won't physically move there. I took the shifter assembly off and out of the car and it still won't move. The transmission is able to through all gears as we tested my moving the linkage.

i'm assuming you've tried to shut down and restart? Actually, you probably can't even remove the key without engaging park.

Correct key won't come out. I even tried the parking brake to get key out or in park but no go.
Thinking it's a bad shifter assembly. Why else wouldn't it move into P or R when the assembly was completely off car.

you might have to unplug the tcu and plug it back. the tcu probably glitched in a loop thinking the car is still moving which is not allowing you to put the car in R or P.

would that keep it from going into P or R even while the assembly is off the car?

Solenoid stuck

I think the r/p lockout solenoid is stuck. It's replaceable. It's shown in the parts catalog and there are replacement instructions in the repair manual. A couple of screws and you're good.

The problem was the shifter assembly. Replaced that with a new one last week and everything is great again.
