Euro AMG Springs

Just wondering, has anyone here in the U.S installed Euro OEM springs? I remember someone talked about Euro C32s ride 1.5 inches lower than the U.S. version. I am thinking about lowering my car for looks and handling. Or, are there any after market springs that are comparable to stock in ride quality that won't damage the shocks? Suggestions please!

The Euro spring is about .5 inches lower on the C32, (you are probably looking at the C320 data if you see 1.5 inches).

The Renntech is probably the closest you will find to the Euro C32 spring. Quite pricey though. Supposedly are OK on the shocks.

When Compared the C32 and C320, the height of both cars stated in the brochure are identical. Therefore, based on what was stated in a Road and Track article, C32 (Euro Plate) rides 1.5" lower than the standard C320. Can someone confirm this? What is the wheel gaps for Renntech springs front and rear? Thanks.

PM me with your current ride height (measured from center of wheel to top of arch f and r, l and r, accurate to .1 inch)

Also, do you know what spring pad you have in the rear?

I'll reply with what that spring will lower your car to.

I just measured the gap: front 2.5"; rear 1.5". I would like to drop the front by 1" to match the rear. I do not want to void the warrenty on the front shocks.

I have no idea what spring pads I have.

Sorry I need it this way:)

(measured from CENTER OF WHEEL to top of arch f and r, l and r, accurate to .1 inch)

Should be roughly 12 or 13 inches.

No aftermarket spring well match perfectly with the stock shocks, and thus they will eventually fail. I have had both H&R and Renntech spring owners later switch to a matched set after their shocks went out. How long it takes depends on your driving, and either will most likely void the warranty on your shocks.

Euro and Renntech:

Basic US C32 ride height is 14.8f and 13.7r (center of wheel to arch). Please check yours AV2.

after Renntech that will be.
13.25f and 13.2r (rear is variable based on pads)

With a drop of 1.5+ front your front shocks are in jeopardy, mostly because they will hit the stops, and that kills them more quickly. See Ben's post for testimonial to that.
Rears will be OK pretty sure, (this is a small effective drop).
I was thinking Renntech lowering was less aggressive than it is, but the front is pretty slammed for the stock shocks to handle.

As far as I know for springs only) there is no better choice than Renntech, but as Ben says your shocks are not going to be happy about the drop.
