Keep C32 or get Infiniti G35?

Would I be downgrading cars by selling my c32 and getting a g35 and supercharging or turboing it?

YES! DEFINITELY!!

But on the other hand, its strictly a personal preference. :o

However, I am VERY sure you will miss the C32! 280 hp on the G35 is like 230 hp for a MB!! Turbo-charging it will only bring you back to 280 hp again!

KEEP THE C32!!! Jesus. I don't think the G35 is that special. Sure, you get a lot of bang for you buck, but you have a AMG Mercedes!

Keep the C32. Besides the obvious HP advantage the G35 is know to be a little loose in the handling dept.

If you like the G35's styling, which some do others don't, then go for it. Nothing weighs more than your own opinion. On the other hand, if you want to chage c32 simply b/c you got tired of it, I'd say look elsewhere. If you cannot wait, why not 350Z?

When looking for a new car I test drove the C32 and the G35. Both my wife and I enjoyed the C32 more than the G35. The ride and handling were much better in the C32 than the G35. HP is around 280 and is only alittle under 10hp less than the Nissan 350z. Needless to say we ended up buying the CLK 500 when the wife so it in the show room with out even test driving it. Good luck.

KEEP the C32!!!!!

Setting aside the fact that it's all personal taste, I test drove the G35 before I bought the C32. All it I can say is that it was a big improvement for Infiniti and Nissan at a very fair price but it offered nothing else. I did not like the interior or exterior styling but was even less impressed with the quality of materials, fit and finish and workmanship of the G35. As regards performance, the G35 isn't on the same planet as a C32. Loose steering, erratic ride and feel, so-so brakes and of course no power. But the G35 is a fantastic car at the price--hat's off to Nissan for doing one heck of a job. I just much prefer paying the $15K extra and getting my money's worth for a different breed of car; the C32. You need to decide what you want to do with your money and if the step down in performance, quality and features is worth the dollars to you. But you CAN get a DVD nav with the G35. Take that M-B!!!

Are u very very serious???
i dont understand why u even compare the 2

sure it looks quite nice...but are u serious ?
i'd surely take the c32 any day

i can buy an infinit g35 if i want but i choose a clk320 although its slower, worse handling etc...

c32 is much faster , better handling and its a MERCEDES

yesterday i saw a c32 amg with quad exhaust and lorinser bodykit ..it looks very cool

if i were u, i'd supercharge the c32 instead
besides its already fast enough stock

The reason why I asked what you guys thought was because my payment on my c32 is $664 a month, I'm 20 and in school and pay for the car myself. The G35 was just a thought because I talked to people who where doing twin turbo's and other work to them and running times that would shatter a c32 all while spending about $200 a month and putting lots of money in my pocket. I realize even with an instant $8000 worth of mods the g35 is inferior but I can't afford any parts other then my wheels and springs for my c32. I am having a tough time finding something that demands the respect and attention that the c32 does for less money. I figured a turbod infiniti with 19" i forged rims would be cool.

Without a SERIOUS downpayment you won't be getting a G35 for $200 a month unless you intend to do a balloon at the end of the note. Keep the C32... it's a vastly superior car.

oh yeah.... this will take alot of thought

this is obviously just to spark a few heads in here.. there is clearly no level of seriousness about this. this question came up after taking a big toke on the peace pipe.

Actually i smoked the "peace" pipe after I wrote this. But I was just curious to see what some C32 owners would think. I did not realize there was such a difference in the cars. Sorry if I upset anyone but I just wanted to ask a few C32 owners what they might think.

Actually, we were just worried about you. It didn't upset us--we are keeping our C32s. Hope youcan keep yours, but there is both a $$$ issue and a class difference.

There is a difference and I appreciate everyone's input. I just figured I'd ask before I drove an hour to test drive one. Thanks

I test drove the sedan version of the G35 (gf is thinking about buying the coupe), and for a sports sedan, it's a well build car for around $33K. It has good handling, fairly quiet ride with lots of room, but I hate the over sensitive brake. It's a better car when you compared it to CL Type S or the IS300 in my opinion, but it's two notches away from a C32 (330i and C320 is a notch higher). Trust me, your friends will kick you in the a$$ and make fun of you for a long time if you trade in the C32 for a G35.

Don't see were you would save money either. G35 is going to cost 37k to 39k by the time you add tax and stuff. Then you get maybe 40k to 45k for your C32. Add 8k worth of mods to G35 and you are higher than the C32!

Keep the C32 dude.. Still new....looks good and has some quicks. I was in the same situation like you, but I got the G cause I wanted to save money for a house, which I should be a new home owner in 2 months. My payment for my car is $520 a month. My car is fully packaged. The E55 I had was few hundred more so I was saving some money there. Also the E55 is dated since they came out with new one.

About adding a force induction in a G35, that would be sweet.. But I don't have $6000-$8000 to dump in my car just to void factory warantee, unless Nismo comes out with a Twin Turbo, then the factory warantee would be still honored.

If your curious on what kind numbers a Greddy twin turbo did on a G35 Coupe, here they are.

Stock GReddy (5.6 psi)
0-60 mph 4.61
1/4 mile 12.79/106.53

Stock G35 Coupe
Stock GReddy (5.6 psi)
0-60 mph 6.00
1/4 mile 14.02/101.89

Good luck with your choice.

Nice Car! What color is your car? It's the steel grey or silver? My gf has a silver on order and they are selling it at sticker. Did you get any discounts? Thanks.

Color is Diamond Graphite.. I haven't heard to many cases where they are selling a G Coupe for less than MSRP. If they did, it was like $200 off.

The G35 is a nice car but you're very confused...adding a TT kit is not the way to go if you are trying to live within a budget. I've biult several power adder cars and if you don't have $5-10k sitting in the bank for the inevitable bown motor you are going to be hurting. Leep the C and suck it up; throw a rentech upgrade onit...

If that all you can affort now...

Japanese -vs- German

Very different cars. Different build philosophies. If you're seriously asking yourself this question, maybe yoiu bought the Benz for the wrong reasons.

You won't save much money by buying a lesser car (of any sort) and throwing $$$ at it to make it what you used to have in the C32.

You have a good car now. If you can afford to keep, suck it up and do it. If not, buy something else German like a used M3 (E36 even) or an Audi or something else that that is fun and relatively quick. If you are just wanting to go fast for less... you could just buy a used Corvette.
