What are you using for rims, size and offsets. What size tires are you using?

I have staggered 19s on my c32 for normal driving but kept my stock wheels. So just recently I bought a set of bfg's that are the g-force drag radials 225/45r17 to run at drag strip which I haven't had a chance to try yet. Overall they look great, I had to restrain myself from getting a larger, wider tire that may look tougher but I didn't want the excess rotating weight. I know from experience these tires hook hard because I had the same type tire on a Pontiac ws6 with a vortex s/c that went a 6.95 in the 1/8th. Oh, and keep an eye on the diameter size it seems like if you use 17" wheel the tires get crazy tall comparing to the stock height. Hope this helps .

ASA AR1 wheel, 16x7.5, bout 19 or 19.5 lbs with Micky Thompson ET Streets, 255-50-16. I'd prefer to run this with CLK forged wheels that run about 17lbs for a 16x7.5 wheel.

I hear where you are coming from mo, I was looking at the Hoosiers in the 225/16's. A 26" tire just seems too tall and and there are HIGH power E55's cutting 1.5x's with 255's, I figure a 225 Hoosier will suit me fine right now. I ran a 12.79 on street tires that are only 1/2" wider than the contact patch of the Hoosier 225's but were 1/2" taller than stock. VERY interested in how you do, seems to me the lower height will give you torque multiplication and add lower rolling resistance and lower moment of inertia with reduced weight = win. i have a set of vox wheels in 17x9 et40 with 275/40-17 mt et streets if your looking. for me i run ccw 18x 10 et54 with mt et streets in 245/40-18

I would be heading to the track today but here in Virginia its raining. I've never ran my car at the track even after all the mods I've done so not knowing is starting to eat at me. I'll let you know when I get an e.t. but for now it looks like I'm waiting tell next Saturday. I see your in Maryland are you familiar with the Budscreek/MIR drag strip.

I've been to Budds Creek but haven't had the opportunity to try MIR yet. I'll probably head there this fall after I get the drag radials and install the parts I have sitting around lol. Cecil County Dragway is just a bit closer to me, and doesn't seem to have anywhere near the waiting time as MIR between runs, so Cecil will have to do for the spring and summer Best of luck, can't wait to hear how you do!

The CLK 16s are actually 13 lbs..

Why not run your stock wheels on a 275/35/18 BFG drag radial? That would be the cheapest route.. If money is not a problem then go with some 16s

AKnight55 I wanted to go with a lighter/smaller rim. I'm trying to loose as much weight as possible.

Are you planning on driving to the track with DR's or swapping once you get there? Hoosiers and MT's are the stickiest per common experience, but you don't want to drive real-world on the Hoosier DOT DR's. MT's aren't as bad on the street as the Hoosier's due to better tread pattern and stiffer sidewall. BFG's and 555R's seem to be even more real-world driveable, but at the expense of absolute traction.

Your choices with a 17" 8.5" rim, if sticking within manufacturer recomendations, seem to be a 225 or a 245...didn't see a 255 available (if Summit Racing's info is accurate, and they seem to offer everything).

Based upon justsaymo's report on his new BFG 225's with less than stellar track prep, I am planning on picking up some 16" rims and 225/50-16 Hoosiers in the next few weeks for my 380ish RWTQ C55. There are highly modded E55's running 255's, so I don't think there is much to worry about as far as lack of traction with the 225 at my level. The bonus for me with the Hoosiers is how light they are...in 225 @ 17" they only weigh 19lbs and stay pretty close to stock diameter. The 245's are much closer to 26" so you will loose some torque multiplication off the line with the larger overall diameter.

All of this is merely my interpretation of what I have gathered in my research, but it seems that the W203 drag contingent is pretty lacking these days, so I figured I'd chime in...good luck, and let us know what your results are once you pull the trigger!
