C55 Res delete?

How loud is the Res delete on the c55? Im thinking about doing the mod too but am worried that it'll make to car too loud and sound like a mustang or something. Ive looked around of youtube at some videos on it but it always seems like everyone has cats and res deletes. Anyone gotta video of their personal car with JUST the red delete only? and does this help the performance at all?

The res delete makes the car louder, yes similar to a mustang. You will also have a slight yet annoying drone at 75 mph. It will not however increase HP or decrease 1/4 mile speed. It's purely a "cosmetic" mod.

hope that helps!

To be honest...it isn't much louder IMO. Similar to a 'stang? The '06 GT I test drove still had more of a V8 rumble if I remember correctly.

I'm probably going to remove the second cats soon.

not much of a difference on the inside, but on the outside when driving behind or by my car (i let my younger sister drive it sometimes) it's a very noticeable difference. i cannot compare it to any car i know of as far as sound. it's much different than a mustang sound, more high pitched IMO.

At cruising speeds it kinda sounds like a v8 370z/g37. Full throttle sounds like a vette. It's not obnoxiously loud where your setting off car alarms or anything. with just res delete it's what you would think a stock amg car should be

I guess it's all subjective...I had my secondary cats replaced with an x-pipe and left my resonator in place before the true duals and Kleemans.

Even after the Kleemans and no cats whatsoever, it's still pretty mellow unless I'm more than a 1/3 into the throttle (or for the first minute after a cold start). If I keep it under 2.5K, nobody pays much attention. On the gas, necks snap lol
