in november i plan to either get a c55 or a c32 with around 50k miles, any common problems that i should look for when checking it out? Also im split between getting the c55 or the c32. The supercharger in the c32 makes me want to get that because i plan on tuning it but they're pretty rare in california. Any thoughts?

Both are nice cars(I have both). The C55 has a unique appearance, dual exhaust, updated interior, and a V8. The C55 will be more pricey than the C32 and you're limited in the mods you can do with the C55 with out spending a fortune. Pulleys, headers, intake, and the ultimate mod a supercharger.
The C32 will be cheaper to mod and to buy. There is quite a bit of after market support and so you can find pulleys, tunes, intakes, headers, etc. more easily. You could say that the car is not very distinguishable from the regular C-class, the interior is kind of dated, and there are few little issues that the C32 has that the C55 does not. Check the radiator to make sure it's not a valeo(valeo's would leak in to the tranny and cause failures), lack of power could mean that the car needs a new intercooler pump(cheap and easy fix), intercooler could leak(not very common), super charger noise is usually the bearing(cheap and relatively easy fix), and accessory pulleys breaking.
Both car suffer from the same issue, valve cover leaks, rear main seal leak, leak from the trans connector, and then common maintenance. If you get a warranty, most of those issues will be covered. If you have tools and can diy, then you can do a lot of the repairs yourself. Each car has it's pro's and con's, but you will have to drive both and decide which one you like better.

What loudandheard said. If you want to mod it then get a c32, if you don't then get a c55.

I went from c32 to c55, here is my experience, c32 in straight is just as fast, but c55 handles much better, I even had pss9s on my 32, and interior is far better than 32. The best thing about c55 is exhaust note after resonator delete, c32 is a good car but more maintaince, don't get 02 go with 03-04, drive both see what you like but i feel c55 is nice upgrade from c32.
I have driven both. Like both. But decided to get a C55 coupe.
Like others have said, the C32 does feel slightly dated.

Sounds good. Just curious but why are you selling your C300? Not enough power?
Yea i really like it but its just way to slow for me. All of my friends drive sports cars and i cant keep up with them, it sounds like im just hopping on a bandwagon but i really do enjoy fast cars.
