M113 Rear Mount Turbo
Hi,
Can anyone point me in the right direction. I'm looking into doing a rear mount turbo on my C55. Any advice would be helpful! Has anyone here done this before on a M113. What seems to be the best turbo to use?

What are your goals? What peak power, powerband, torque etc are you aiming for. How much did you want to spend? To do it properly you will probably spend as much as the kleemann supercharger kit and I would take the SC over a rear mount turbo anyday.
I personally would not do rear mount, I would use twin garrett gtx3071's if they fit in the engine bay. Turbos run on heat as much as air flow. A whole heap of heat has dissipated well before it gets to the end of the exhaust but yes they do work. Otherwise for a rear mount, a single gt35r might provide for a jump in power while being small enough to spool relatively early. Hope that helps. I haven't had a decent look under the w203 but you will need to run an intercooler pipe forward to the engine, a oil feed and drain +/- coolant hoses back towards the turbo and a custom frame to mount it. I am guessing you will need bigger injectors at a minimum and possibly bigger fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and fuel rails.

SilverarrowE55 did it on his W210 E55. Here is what he had to say.

There used to be a thread in the W210 E55 forum with a lot of pics of either his car or some other members car. I can't remember and don't feel like searching hard.
Over on Crossfireforum there is a group buy going on with BEGI to turbo their M112's and one members car with an M113 swap. Might be able to gather some info over there as well.

Just because one guy spends entirely too much money too make his own kit, don't doom the whole concept.
STS Turbo has been reviewed in many car mags and tv shows. There is a guy with an SL 500 on this forum that has that set up. They will run about $5K.

Personally, for the money, you are better running as wide of rubber as you can, do a tune and full exhaust, there is more than enough power than you can effectively put to the ground in the cars. 1,000 hp is meaningless if you can't use it.
