Here's what my stock pads looked like after three events.

Just did ate one front and back. Put on over 500 mi. No dust build up. They feel a bit soft but stopped hard as hell in Dyno mode smoking the heck out of my tires as well as regular mode.

I did 3 lapping days with the EBC reds and they still have plenty of meat on them. Never faded, but I did manage to overheat them once after some very aggressive braking. They were literally smoking. Aside from that one time, never had any issues. BTW, I'd rather have a softer set of pads than a hard metallic compound that would wear my rotors excessively. The EBC reds do the job. Will probably try the EBC yellows next as I do want a slightly stiffer compound more resistent to heat. I recall the HAWK HP+ ferrocarbons killing my rotors off pretty fast on my M3. I had to replace them once a season (rotors and pads together). My stock AMG rotors have lasted me 2 pad changes now. The EBC reds are an improvement over OEM, but in terms of bite, not by much. They are definitely more fade resistent though which is fine by me.

i don't track/race/drag my car...
only street use with occasional moments of madness lol.
so I'm going for the red's but mostly just to keep my new wheels clean![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I tried EBC red stuff and they squeeked for 3K miles. I took them out and put them in 3 times trying to keep them from squeeking. Just put new OEM pads on. Like I heard above, no dust on the fronts so far, the backs are dirtier. Also not a peep from OEM pads. I haven't tracked at all, just driving around town. Red stuff seemed to eat up my rotor quickly. Rotors were OEM.

I've used red stuff for a couple of months now and I'm very pleased with them. Better braking power than originals and almost zero dust. And they work great for me even in cold Sweden...

Akebono here. The 'bono's are more linear than the stock pad and do create the impression that they are "softer". The stock pads I had were kind of dead initially then really grabbed when you got further into them. Takes some getting used to the change but the lack of dust is really awesome.

I cannot recommend Disc Itailia from brakeworld enough. I do not track the car so I can't discuss fade. But absolutely no brake dust. Feel is great too.

perhaps i got a bad set of 4 EBC red stuff pads because they dust a heck of a lot more than my akebono ceramics. It's quite ridiculous to be honest!

I don't have the option of akebono ceramics in the back of my car, so i have the bonos up front and the ebc red in the back. The ebc make noise and dust far worse (and darker) than the akebonos.
Akebono all day every day over red stuff

That is interesting! In that case it would definitely be worth a look bc those should have excellent initial bite. Do you have the part number you are referring to for a CLK63 caliper? There is only one pad for it now, but I think for another model perhaps they have two options as I was browsing the parts database and remember seeing some pads that said low-dust. Must have been a CLK since I have been looking to replace pads.

ya there is a part number for "low-dust" pads for the clk, i dont remember the part number before...i think its somewhere in my files on my computer when i was parting the clk63 brake upgrade
