so wasn't feeling too happy with the factory HID bulbs anymore. Actually got a set of philips ultinon bulbs in my c230 but then like an idiot I left them in their when I sold the car considering they're $250 for a set. But some of the best I've owned (well lets call em the best since I've only owned 3 cars with HID, lol).
So i found a set of the Ultinon's on Amazon for $130 so I had to jump on them. I did buy a set from a memeber about a year ago and found that the 2 bulbs were actually different colors from each other!
But I figured I'd give it another shot and we'll see whats up! But the Ultinons are also 6000k which isn't the greatest light output but the bluest I will ever go driving a MERCEDES! Yes thats a hit to all you bubbas who have 8/10/12000k bulbs in your MERCEDES! lol You might as well turn your lights off when driving down the road because the street lights and MOON are giving you better light output! hahahahahaha
So with that said I did some research and found a company called the retrofit source who push the brand Morimoto. They also sell Sylvania/OSRAM and Philips on their website and thats it! Found a youtube video of them doing a sidebyside comparison of the bulbs saying they they're are completely comparable in every way but the PRICE at $45-60 for a set vice $160-250 per set for anything above 4000k or 4300k. So I picked up a set of 5000k and I'm gonna see which set matches my HID fogs w/ 5000k bulbs I installed when I installed my CLK63 bumper! and heck if they're not perfect I may even just go get the Morimoto bulbs to replace the 5000k DDM Tuning bulbs I got in my fogs now since I've been a zealot for their stuff for the last 5-6 years.
I'll let you know how it all turns out once they both arrive this weekend/beginning next week!

Haha don't even compare Morimoto to DDM. I've been running Morimoto for years. They're pretty good guys that started on the hidforums back in the retrofit days. They know their stuff.
I think their 6k bulbs are the perfect balance between looks and light output. Definitely worth the price.

ya man I'm excited. I mean DDM is huge in the BMW market and I have ZERO COMPLAINTS with their stuff, I was mostly just looking for some D2S bulbs taht weren't crap but didnt cost me $200. They should be in tomorrow though!

I liked them. But they're not installed at the moment as i ahve the phillips ultinon bulbs in. The 5k was pretty white but not enough blue. If I did it again I would have gone with 6000k. Prefer 5500k if they had that but they did not. But overall I did love the light output that the morimoto's gave me over the philips ultinon

Well gents Its been an amazing almost decade of W203 action! The C55 is finally up for sale as i have moved on to a BMW F15 X5 50i. Need a bit more space for the growing family but its all good. I've got +500HP out of this TT 4.4! and AWD. Really wanted to stay Benz but am just not a fan of the direction Daimler is going with for their interiors!!!! They just are appauling in my opinion. But the new F15 X5 is stunning both inside and out and of course I am addicted to V8 power thanks to the C55! haha

I think that link should work but let me know if it doesn't. And thanks man. Kept it simple. Didn't quite get to as much as I wanted but she's been a perfect car.

Do not recommend buying from them. He was awful to deal with. Worst communication of any company ever. Product was supposed to take 6 weeks and it ended up taking nearly 3 months. Every time I would call and ask about it it he would be clueless and have to get back to me. They also don't make the product which isn't expressed on their site or to me until I've already sent him my steering wheel. He sends it to China and then you're at their mercy. Luckily the sweat shop that did the work did a nice job but I wouldn't never go through that again.
