Hey guys did a bit of searching but didnt seem to get any real conclusive answers and the last bit was from over 2 years ago so I thought I'd revisit it...

Basically just wondering if anyone has or had mbrace for their C55 and what services it actually entitles you. One of the posts said MB said it wouldn't activate the remote lock/unlock or remote vehicle finder etc, but then another guy said he had it and all the basic functions worked...so I'm mostly looking for a bit of an update from someone with more recent experience...

PS I'm not interested in mBrace2 or w/e but rather mostly the remote lock/unlock and vehicle locator if it were ever stolen etc...

Have a look at the attached. I did this a few years ago, and have the app on my iPhone. The find car and unlock / lock works fine. Plus if I trigger the alarm (or the alarm is triggered) I get a text message. The tele aid basic is now a lifetime subscription.

Funny, I actually just got an email from Mercedes today offering MBrace for $299.00 for a lifetime subscription. I did a little checking and it seems the MBrace 2 is only available for M.Y. 2012 and later. Still considering it, but my car never had the Bluetooth installed at the dealer (which I assume is required) so I'm sure it would end up costing a bit more than $299.00. Aside from that, I'm planning on upgrading to a Dynavin D99 Android in the next 6 months or so...unsure of compatibility issues. It would still be nice though, especially the remote door unlocking (that's how I'm in Benz's system), the alarm notification and the stolen vehicle locator. Too bad we can't get the valet protect!

You don't need BT installed for mBrace to work, I opted in for the lifetime subscription on my '06 before I installed the BT.

I've never used it once to unlock the doors but it's nice to have that feature. The reason I got it was after the first time my wife had to call roadside assistance from her mobile with a flat tire in BFE Nevada the operator in NJ had no idea where she was. The second time with mBrace was painless as they knew exactly where she was.

so they only offered you mbrace2 for 299 for a lifetime? cuz ya obviously that does nothing for us and who really needs all those apps to work through the h/u...i care only about the remote lock, remote vehicle locator, and stolen vehicle locator...

They have my VIN and identify that I have a C55 elsewhere in the email, so I can only assume they are including vehicles other than those that are compatible with MBrace2.
