removing cats. Hp gain?

hi amg fans. To the people that removed or modified their catalytic convertor. How many hp did you gain? Did you also modify the ecu? Thanks in advance

removed my secondaries. Butt dyno says yes!!! and the exhaust sounds so much better w/o drone given that you keep the resonator on.

When I had my C55 I had a dyno proven 15hp 20tq at the wheels.

which cats? primaries or secondaries?

on C55, deleting your secondaries is good for 5-10 whp/tq. On a C32, deleting the secondaries will add zero power and make your exhaust louder

for the primaries on a c32, you likely won't see very much gain from removing/switching to high flow primary cats UNLESS you have hearders since the stock exhaust manifolds are very restrictive and are the bottleneck. I don't recall the numbers for deleting/switching to high flow primaries on the C55 but i'm sure they're worth something

when i took the secondaries off, I could barely see through them and seem extremely restrictive..... but the exhaust note it produces makes it all worth the $120 in labor and ss pipes . now i'm debating on removing the resonators as well. so i'm on the fence.

the main bottle neck on the c32 exhaust is the stock manifolds. getting headers on a stock car c32 will probably net you somewhere between 20ish whp, maybe a little more with a tune. if you don't change out the stock manifolds, you'll still have a major upstream restriction from the secondaries. deleting them without getting headers has a negligible effect on power. the only scenario where it could be possible to see SOME power from deleting those is if you have headers, upgraded to high flow primary cats, and possibly the resonator delete (which i love and view as a weight reduction mod/exhaust note modifier)...and the reason why you MIGHT see a LITTLE bit of power gain then is because at that point, you've removed all possible bottlenecks

but if you love the sound, then clearly it was worth the money
