dont really know in terms of measurement how much lower, but one other poster by the name of mhh has posted pictures of his car with the euro amg springs. i think it was under the thread "amg style iv 18" wheels". from what i can tell, it is quite a bit lower up front and rear compared to usa spec springs.

I don't recall the car looking any lower than others I've seen on the site before I added the new wheels. Here it is again - do others think it looks lower? It is an Australian spec car, but I haven't modified the springs. Perhaps it is the angle of the shot?

Hi Mhh

Please do us a favor and measure it.

Measure all four wheels UP from the center of Mercedes centercap to the wheel arch, this will give us exactly what we need.

BTW I bet you are lower. Maybe 1/2 inch.

Is there a legal limit in USA which prevents the cars from coming lower stock or just because our over abundance of speed bumps and such?

What usually dictates ride height from

the manufacturer is DOT headlight height requirements. The few state regs I'm aware of on how low a car can go specify that the body can't be lower than the rims' height above the ground. With modern tires, this is really getting down in the weeds.Your local rules may be different.

OK, about 13.4" rear and 14" front - as close as I can tell. That's measuring from the centre of the hub to the lower edge of the fender. So I guess the Australian models are indeed lower that the US version - at least at the front.

This difference at the front suggests that it is the headlight thing. I remember 30 years ago that the MGB had its front springs jacked up for the US market for a similar reason - showing my age here!
