Bluetooth options for 05 C55 AMG?
I noticed that my center console has the wiring/fiber optic cable but does not have the spot where the puck connects.
What options do I have? If I go oem I know I need the completer kit for the console, the puck, and the modules and wiring for the trunk.
Any other easier/aftermarket solutions that will work for me where the contacts and everything will display on the navigation screen?

I had a MoBridge installed in my car a year ago. Works flawlessly and seemlessly with the command system in my C55 . I think I paid $750 installed. Car Tronics makes a very similar device as well. There are a number of threads on this forum discussing this. Personally I don't see investing in the OEM unit given the technology is very old when current technoloy after market options are available. That's my view anyway.

I went with the OEM system. Do a search of this forum, the was a pretty comprehensive thread on what to do. I don't remember the exact cost but parts were less than $500 and it's a DIY using the instructions on the link. No STAR coding was required in my case. It works seamlessly with the voice dialing feature (Linguatronic) feature too.

My earpiece works pretty nicely for $15, and it doesn't lock up or need to disconnect when I step out of the car...

I have a Dension 500 for iPod connection and then the Dension Bluetooth unit too. But I don't have Comand, just Audio 20 or whatever it's called. Cartronics had some nice stuff, but they are gone now. The proprietor died just a few months back! Poor guy.

mobridge uses the itronic one and i just installed it about a month ago and love it...takes a while to get the ipod control down and im still not perfect but i can get it to do mostly what i want when i want it too...the BT is flawless though. Never had any complaints and i just ran the mic up along the trip and then attached it above the rear view mirror where only I can see it and It works great! Relatively easy install too. Bought it off of eBay though if i recall cuz it was much cheaper than buying it through mobridge or a local rep that mobridge distributes out too

Hi Maverick259,
Would you mind sending me a copy or posting here the instructions for the itronic unit and how to pair?
I can't pair my Samsung Galaxy S3. I never had this problem with my previous phones.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I've checked this. I am actually looking for the actual instructions how to pair a new phone. But I also learned this samsung model is not compatible. I will call technical support for more info.

running a mic took 5 min lol and the mic is better quality from what I've heard...idk where the oem mic is and im quite sure it's already run. I believe its up in the over heard light area, passenger side next to the passenger reading light, should be a grille looking thing up there...basically opposite the SOS button

I've been using Itronics for about 3 years now. No problems, works well, no interference. While it will download my blackberry phonebook, the Benz/Iitronic interface renders using the phone book on the tiny cluster screen practically useless.

i use the phone book on the display gauge display just fine...if you hold the arrow down it scrolls by letter and if you just keep tapping it it scrolls individually...whats wrong with yours?

I do love the caller ID on the nav screen though. As well as the send/hangup buttons on the center console.

My experience is the same. Phone book interface is seamless. You can jump to addresses using the key pad on the command unit, instead of just scrolling the full list of contacts. It works really well. A good investment if you need to use a phone in your car.

Pretty sure your ear piece doesn't mute the music and display the caller ID on the nav screen. Pretty sure the ear piece runs out of juice and needs to be plugged in and charged. Pretty sure the ear piece doesn't let the passenger join in on the conversation. Oh, pretty sure the earpiece also makes you look like it's 2001 all over again.
