what is it called exactly? In germany they told me a sensor you change every 30 000 miles and controls the amount of air that goes inside the engine... Thanks a lot!
Maybe mean the "Air Temperature sensor",, do you have a C32 or C55.....??

Throttle Position Sensor, Mass Airflow Sensor, Intake Air Temperature sensor, and Manifold Air (or Absolute) Pressure sensor could all be possibilities for such a general description.
I wouldn't think that you NEED to change any sensor every 30k miles though

*About the C32,, it well be "2" things that controls the amount of the Air goes inside the Engine,, "Air Mass Sensor" & "Air Temperature sensor"
*About the C55,, it well be only the "Air Mass sensor",, NO "Air Temperature sensor" in the V8 M113,, isn’t....?!?!
ZAYED,,
I'm thinking he was referring to the mass air sensor.
As i know; the "MAF" counting the density value of the air,, is that correct.......??

MAF is just a hot wire with a voltage signal (0-5V) going to the ECU that fluctuates as air flows past it. So it only reads airflow. The ECU uses this value plus the known diameter of the MAF housing to calculate the amount of air coming in.
That’s a value & great info. Thankss alot.....

thanks! could it be the mass airflow sensor. They told me not enough air getr within the engine which caused the car to stall (extremely rarely)Originally Posted by VividRacing

MBWorld Fanatic!
If you have a C55 then it has a MAF but if you have a C32 then it does not have a MAF, it has a MAP sensor and I doubt this would affect idle.
If a dealer, they probably want to sell you a new throttle body assembly.

thanks mate. Its a heavely modified c55. Its my tuner Vath in Germany that told me to check it when i get back to Switzerland...

That would make sense then if it is a heavily modified C55.
