What did you get after you sold your C55?
More of an open/fun thread, just curious to see what former C55 owners have moved on to....

Am curious as well. I'm going to assume for folks that wanna stay in the MB brand, E55 or C63 or any other higher model AMG's

Interesting question, I know Kuzni went to an w211 e63.
Might pay to post this question on every single car forum except the c55 one, j/k.

Sorry to go off topic but can I ask, how did you like the upgrade? I know it is faster and has more power, how did you find the handling?

i will always keep my modified c55. However i will purchase a clk63 black. I thought about the c63 black and the new cls63 but i like the c55 clk front too much!

I plan on keeping my car for a long time since I now have so much invested in it. Not really sure there's anything else I can do to it after the Kleemann headers, so hopefully it'll be enough power. However, I do plan on getting getting a 10 or 11 Grand Sport convertible in Jetstream Blue in the future.

I haven't 'moved on' just yet. When I do, it will be to a C63, must have the performance pack with SLS internals and LSD though. Not that I would make a lot of use with the SLS internals, but the fact that it's available means I'd want it.
That said, a CLS55 or E55 is tempting too, because they are getting quite affordable now. But I still can't stand how one of the dials on the instrument cluster is a clock. That annoys me to no end, and is almost a deal breaker for me.

When I ‘tired’ of the C55 I bought a BMW M Coupe, fortunately I was in the position financially to keep both and it was a great decision. The two are different animals, one rides on rails while the other is just go fast straight. Both can and are driven almost daily and don’t think I could get rid of either unless my children were starving.

I will never gonna sell my C32 AMG SC because im going to keep it as a collectible.
I believe that in the future this rare baby will increase her value. (35.000 original Kilometers)
Right now my daily driver its a Mitsubishi L200 Triton truck (google it) and im planning to get a white C63 AMG in the next 2 years.

+1 I love my little C55, not at all interested in selling. It is very dependable, in absolutely perfect condition, and makes for a most entertaining DD in every way. I'll just retire it and keep it around as one of my toys when miles get a little higher and I move onto something else for DD purposes.

Thats exactly what I was thinking of doing. What do you think of the transmission compared to the 5spd in the C55. When you put it in manual mode is it a bit more responsive?

Definitely different feel due to the transmission.
The 5 speed would set you back in the seat and you could feel the shift points. The 7 speed while it had more hp and torque, you couldn't feel the gears shifting as much. Down shifting the 5 speed gave you obvious rpm changes. Dropping 2 gears maybe changes the rpm by a thousand. ie: interstate cruising at 75mph in 7, drop to 5 eh, drop to 4 and its on!! Pulls like a train..
I wouldn't exactly say more responsive. Manual will hold the gear you are in rather than shifting for you. The paddles may make the shift response a little faster but we are not talking a night and day difference. The coolest part of the 7 speed I liked is.... in manual mode using the left paddle to down shift while stomping the gas. Pull the paddle and hold it and it will drop to the lowest appropriate passing gear...instant grin... I found that you need to keep your finger close to the right paddle because the rpms are gonna jump fast and go to redline so you will need to shift up or you bounce off the limiter.
