C55 Larger Intake Tubes
I want to bring this discussion alive again because I think it is a very beneficial upgrade.
After researching I have found that there hasn't been any progress with the development of larger intake tubes. Has anyone fabricated this yet?
The main part that needs to be changed is the dinky recatngular opening at the grill. The remaining tube seems to have enough diameter to flow adequate air.
I am going to see if I can fabricate a new end for this plastic tube that mounts behind the grill.
Any Feedback?
Thanks,
Derek

Ive always thought the biggest restriction w/ intakes on all w203s were in two places: Immediately above the MAF & the "funnel" at the start of the intakes! Renntech has a CF airbox that is taller near the MAF and it has been proven to make more power. Id say - try it out and put it on the dyno

I think you should see what you can do to increase the size of those "dinky openings" this would certainly help increase air flow through the CLK350 Kevlar intake tubes, the Renntech air box and the bored out throttle body.
Keep me posted.

I spent about an hour yesterday trying to figure out how to open the ram air inlets up and it is definately going to be a challenge...maybe not doable. Either way I am still going keep trying.
