C55 tire wear
Curious how many miles you guys are getting from your C55 tires? I have 17k on my Pirelli P-Zero Neros and the fronts are showing uneven wear to the point they cannot be balanced 100% right. Yes, I do need to get the alignment redone when I replace them. No track use, but plenty of aggressive street miles over 18 months.
Also, is there a preferred all-season tire currently on the market that people like? I see the P-Zeros are hard to get these days. (I could have searched for the second question, please don't beat me)

It's the wife's car but I "get" to drive it once in awhile. We've been meaning race to research the power bit but from the butt dyno I'd have to say that it's faster than the C55. That, and it gets 10 mpg better on my commute when she lets me drive it and Google Maps is a neat toy to play with.

Styling and packaging wise, I think its much sleeker and more modern/contemporary than the C55 which is actually aging quite rapidly. But I can't convince myself to give up all the sweet and accessible power of the C55.

Good question but it's official published 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds time (0.2 seconds faster than the C55) indicates that something is up. Most likely off the line traction but the 7-speed DSG, which is really nice, could be part of it.

I'm liking the michelin pilot spot a/s plus, running 35psi all four corners. Found a little too much cupping with the stock 33/37 psi.

my tires usually last about a year last 2 sets were toyo TR1 and these and hankook Evos v12 so relatively cheap tires so I don't expect much from them. I drive about 15-20k a year

Back on topic: my first set of Pirellis lasted 10K miles before needing to be replaced, but that was all my own doing.

I have run both setups below:
Pirelli Pzero Rosso (Front - 225/40/18 and Rear - 245/35/18)
Pirelli Pzero Nero (Front - 225/40/18 and Rear - 255/35/18)
The Rears tires on both sets lasted around 20k miles, the Front tires around 30k - 40k miles.
I prefer the Nero's as they are most cost effective and have a slightly softer ride than the Rosso's, and the Nero's handle and grip just as well as the Rosso's.

You guys are getting excellent life from tires. I wouldn't be complaining at all! I will start this with my usual rant of Pirellis being the worst tires in the world. The P-Zeros that came on my C63 wheels (stock C63 tires) lasted 3k miles on the rear and 1k of that was on my C230! The fronts lasted 8k miles and they became out of round and started riding horrible and they were at 3/32 so I went ahead and replaced those then. I had replaced the rears with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Pluses and had about 8k on those when I replaced the fronts so I replaced the rear again to have all matching Pilot Super Sports. The Pirellis and first set if Michelins had NO track time on them (and were also pre-Supercharger) but the Super Sports have a DE event at Road Atlanta and a few trips to the drag strip on them so I don't expect much out of the rears. The fronts look like they'll last quite a while.

I am reading reviews on Tirerack now and lot of the reviewers are complaining of excessive tire noise with Pirellis (I can personally attest to this) as well as the Michelins. The Conti DWS seems to be a quiet tire per the reviews.

I have pirelli's the neros, lasted about 8k, but that was with track use.
I currently use v12's and they are a good cheap tire, been about 12k so far, the rears are at 40% but the fronts have alittle more thread on them

I am referring to the reviews of the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S on tirerack. I run Michelins and Pirellis on my bikes, and like both companies, in general. but I am tired of the road noise on the Pirellis and going to be shopping for the quietest All Season tires for the next set.
