How to connect a Boost gauge on C32 ?

Dear all,

I have a mechanical boost gauge here and I have mounted the gauge at the A pillar. But I don't know where I can "T" the hose to get the boost pressure at the engine. I only found some point to take the vacuum readings.

Anyone have advice please ?

Regards

Vacuum is negative reading. Boost is positive. If you are reading the vacuum than you are done. When the SC engages, and the number changes to positive, that's boost. Unless you did something wrong.
I tapped the Y-pipe for boost. That the one where the MAP sensor is.

That means need to drill a hole at the "bottom metal Y-pipe". To made it work, must need to take it out. I would like to ask if need to take out the metal LHS and RHS manifold ? (not only the plastic filter boxes)

It's seems to complicate if doing that, any DIY write up or pics to this ? Thanks

Regards

W203 slightly modified
Boost gauges are for cars with racing controllers where you can dial in various parameters. What the heck will you read on a stock standard car.

Yup boost on. Boost off. Boost on. Boost off.

Get a $5 led setup. Gives same information.

Buy the OBDII to WIFI connector and use your smartphone as a BOOST GAUGE...

Also can use the damn thing as a scan tool.

Very good and inexpensive option if you have a smart phone. OBD2 refresh rate is slower but a very good beginning.

One of the intake manifolds must be the easiest spot to take it from. Takes 2 minutes to remove a manifold, then just need to drill and tap a hole and put a hose fitting in. 1/8 NPT would be your best bet.

Yes, done on the RHS manifold, easier job than Y pipe.

Thanks

what is still unanswered?

Drill the manifold and then tap the manifold for a 1/8" NPT hose barb fitting. Then run a vacuum line to the mechanical boost gauge and you're set. You will also need to find a place to feed the vacuum line through the firewall.
