a car that can't do the throttle reset.
I actually still own a stock '07 335i coup semi-auto 306hp/400nm torque, and use to own also a '07 335i coup semi auto chipped with Alpina chip 360hp/500nm torque.
I wish I could put my 335 and C32 next to each other, but the C32 is in Phoenix and the 335 in Amsterdam..![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The chipped 335i was a beast, e46 m3 are all gone and had wheelspin with 80-100 km/h on dry roads. The power distribution with the double turbo's is really gradually and seriously fast, BMW actually received an award for this specific engine, nice piece of engineering.
I really hate stupid, non funded remarks about other cars than you drive yourself. Those people that can only be positive and enthusiastic about what they are driving at that moment, superficial on childish. So be more objective and don't underestimate or depreciate the 335i, beautiful and fast cars, they will surprise you!!
I actually like the BMW's handling, based on the suspension, package, weight distribution and steering, way better than the Mercedes.
I do like the overall quality and feel of the Mercedes better over the BMW, not that the BMW is bad, on the contrary. So there more sides to the story and in the end everybody should drive what makes them feel good, right?
What I don't get is that Mercedes (AMG) are more affordable than BMW around the same year and model, any thoughts..?????????!!!!![word](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/werd.gif)
An E55 AMG 04-.. compared to a BMW M5 05-.. You can't find a decent M5 for under 30k, a decent E55 AMG for 15-20k. Then I made my choice, E55 AMG any day!!![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

Nah. Its not about only appreciating what you drive, cause thats not the case. I praise cars I like.. including BMWs. I was an owner of a few, so its not bias in that sense. Its bias in the sense that a ton of 335 drivers shouldn't be driving a Beemer, but riding a short bus.
I always wondered how mercedes could get 300-500 miles on them, and that not just an exception, they are really well build and comtain high quality parts. But with the right maintainance they will last you a long time.
I do favour the design of some BMWs over Mercedes, guess why those cars are more populair that way. I think its based on what you personally value in a car, for me its performance, quality and feel of the car. What convinces me is the price that is considerably lower than a BMW M..
And its always more fun to drive a sedan and surprise people with its performance, stock Porsche 996 is gone, you had to see the look on that guys face

So, since we were debating this topic I figured I'd share this awesome video my buddy made yesterday. He has a 2007 335xi AT and he recently upgraded to cobb stage 1 aggressive w/ standard throttle. Only physical upgrade is a BMS Dual cone intake. It's kind off amazing how much faster he got after the cobb install.
Stock vs stock (sorta i had a res delete): I pull on him pretty good probably 2-3 cars from 50-120. This while giving him the jump due to the lag. I raced a buddies 335i and it was a little closer, even to 50 (dig) but I pull 1.5-2 cars by 120. He was MT w/ injen intake. Also about 1.5 cars from 70-130. I think 335i AT would be the closest race stock for stock, but I doubt it would win.
C32 now w/ PLM HE, 61mm EC pulley/tune, and NW iso. 335xi added cobb St 1 aggressive: First race I was worried so I didn't wait much and I jump way to far in front.....Second from around 45ish I try and delay and give him a very slight jump. He was a half car in front due to delay for a sec with neither pulling, I almost thought I wouldn't catch him :0. Then towards middle/end of third I start slowly passing him. I think I was just over 1 car by 135-140ish.
I think it would be really tough to stick around with a non-AWD 335 at stage 2 aggressive w/ FBO. I think it would take a "Loungin" type c32 to do it.
Here is a video my buddy made comparing individually made 60-120 mph runs from our cars and one showing the difference of his before and after cobb.
I know JB4 is diff than cobb but this sheds light on how fast 335s can get.

No one doubts how fast those tuned 335s get. They are legit speed demons. But they are also legit club thumping, blow out wearing, douche nozzle circus parties.
