C32 amg vs.335i
My friend got a 335i and he's got jb4 on map 2, intakes, down pipes and a axial back exhaust... Do you think a c32 can take him with mods.. And what about stock vs stock.. Does anyone have any run ins with 335s..

One thing I've noticed about 335s, they are everywhere! (a huge plus for w203 AMG pilots imo) And where I live it seems only about 1 in 20 are modded at all- let alone properly tuned. Stock v Stock C32 or C55 would take it- When tuned though, those bimmers are evil fast.

He would still take you out. The mods he has now he's probably sitting at 420 crank horsepower and 12.5 in the 1/4 mile conservatively.
If you tune, pulley, CAI your C32 I think you'd get somewhat close but still lose to him.

Off the top of my head, the FIRST lvl tune for the 335i nets 370 horses from an otherwise stock car. Don't remember if that was Vishnu or Eurocharged, but TUNED=FAST
-- does it matter single vs twin turbo??

you would lose modded vs modded. But you'll win stock vs stock. You'll be dead even to about 80-85mph then slowly pull on him. This is assuming a 65mph roll though. At least that was the results of my race in mexico.
you'll have more of a chance against the 2010-2011 ones since the n55 engine is a single turbo and do not get as much return on tunes as the n54 engines twin turbo 07-09.

I think the gear box is a critical point for this. Newer 335i gearbox run faster response in shifting or even less power loss. Since w203 722 gearbox is outdated,in technology.

Ive raced 335's and 135's. 135 with JB4 on map 7 and 100 octane I got pulled on pretty hard. I am pretty much fully modded. Those cars are real beasts when modded correctly.

I raced my friends JB4 135i stage 2 6 speed(N55) and walked him.
I raced a friend's of a friend's 335i automatic (N54) with a JB4 and E85, 380whp, and he pulled away slowly. He was about a car and half ahead from 60-to 120mph roll.
At the track he ran 12.6s@111.
The 135i ran 13.3@107.

I recently raced my friends 335i 6mt sedan on the high way in my c55 and managed to pull on him by alittle bit over a car length up top but since then hes gotten a COBB accessport and from what i hear its almost a 100hp gain for those cars. The 335's are stupid fast for what they are I've also heard of 335's with just tunes taking out the new e92 m3's

All I gotta say is that I drove a 2010 335i sport recently and was quite underwhelmed....in auto the thing was sluggish, using the paddles it was much more responsive, but the acceleration just wasn't impressive...granted it was stock verse my modded C32 (which, btw, I am also not impressed with overall 'feel' of its acceleration either).
I've been looking at those 335's quite extensively recently...the tune gives most power obviously, the downpipe gives some but not a lot...I remember there was debate on effectiveness of intakes on those cars and don't rmemeber the exhaust adding any hp at all.... the real; power comes from FMIC, meth or running E85.
....a stock 335i would need a good 30hp just to catch up with a stock C32...a tune, pulley and intake would add prolly another 50hp to the C32 (conservatively)....80hp is what I'd see the 335i needing to catch up...I'd guess those mods you listed might net about that but I don't see it walking a modded C32 necessarily....now they get near an E85 pump you're screwed

fwiw, a friend of mine just got JB4 on his 335i 6spd. A close buddy of mine, who has been in my car for 50+ mexico street pulls and whose modded LS1 camaro is dead even with my c32 says that this jb4 335i is "quick, but not quick as quick as my 32"....clearly VERY subjective, no head to head runs, numbers, etc...purely feel/butt dyno.....so take that as fwiw

JB stage 2 w/ I DP and ex are putting down around 350ish WHP. I'm sure there are c32's with Pulley, intake, headers etc that can keep up.
I just have just a 61mm pulley, tune, and heat exchanger and I'm doing 12.8ish @110-111 on crappy all season tires. I figure with intake I can run w/ a stage 2 jb4. I guess it all depends. Haven't dyno'd yet though.

another of my buddies recently got a 335i. has catback + JB4. Is a 6spd. He occasionally mixes in some E85 and that thing pulls hard. sometime in the next couple of weeks, i'll try to get a video of he and i doing some pulls.

I actually still own a stock '07 335i coup semi-auto 306hp/400nm torque, and use to own also a '07 335i coup semi auto chipped with Alpina chip 360hp/500nm torque.
I wish I could put my 335 and C32 next to each other, but the C32 is in Phoenix and the 335 in Amsterdam..
The chipped 335i was a beast, e46 m3 are all gone and had wheelspin with 80-100 km/h on dry roads. The power distribution with the double turbo's is really gradually and seriously fast, BMW actually received an award for this specific engine, nice piece of engineering.
I really hate stupid, non funded remarks about other cars than you drive yourself. Those people that can only be positive and enthusiastic about what they are driving at that moment, superficial on childish. So be more objective and don't underestimate or depreciate the 335i, beautiful and fast cars, they will surprise you!!
I actually like the BMW's handling, based on the suspension, package, weight distribution and steering, way better than the Mercedes.
I do like the overall quality and feel of the Mercedes better over the BMW, not that the BMW is bad, on the contrary. So there more sides to the story and in the end everybody should drive what makes them feel good, right?
What I don't get is that Mercedes (AMG) are more affordable than BMW around the same year and model, any thoughts..?????????!!!!
An E55 AMG 04-.. compared to a BMW M5 05-.. You can't find a decent M5 for under 30k, a decent E55 AMG for 15-20k. Then I made my choice, E55 AMG any day!!
