so this is probably the most random post i hope i ever have to put up i seem to have lost the star that goes on the engine cover infront of the intake.... anyone know where i can get one of these without buying the whole cover?
Best I could do with this problem was to modify a trunk star ($5 to $25 on ebay) and epoxy it to the engine cover. The fit is not perfect, but close. No pic's at the moment -- looks good enough. Make sure to clean the cover and paint, if necessary, prior to the installing the new star.

no!, first i removed the chrome circle/star, it pops right off , be careful not to brake any of the legs. then i took a small grinder and ground the back side so it was clean and even, it does have a concave to it . I put the circle/star back on and trimmed the chrome legs ( it doesn't want to stay after that, so now i painted it black unless your cover is gray you might want to paint it gray, before it was dry,,just tacky, i put the dot of super glue in the center of the star then installed the star on to the cap.. let that sit overnight, the paint and the super glue will hold it on, now i put two sided 3m tape on the back side trimmed the extra tape so none showed on the edges, installed it on my engine cover, it has been there for 4 1/2 months now. jim
