tech told me: "remove your car key when getting gas".
After a good chortle at his expense, he was actually serious. Needless to say, he shouldn't be allowed to do any job that involves breathing.
Discuss.
And because you all love me, my auto dimming mirrors suck. Never work.
The last thing I would be worried about is your "key-fob" fouling as what is conveyed.
ok enough ranting.. was this guy a merc tech? I've had my many of jobs in the auto industry. And when I look back what I've said.. I want to ***** slap myself.. maybe he just needs a helping hand.

On the mirror thing.. my passenger mirror goes down in reverse.. but I didn't know my mirrors were supposed to "dim" like the rear view one does. I guess I'll have to pay more attention when I drive at night.

Besides, I just thought that feature was a pain in the ****.
I am old enough to remember that we would just lift our butts off the seat to see the curb as we backed.
As to the key, you need to understand that the friction of the gas passing down the filler tube will create enough static electricity to cause a car (with key in ignition) to power up the accessory switch, resulting in a flapping stepper motor arm to beat on the back of the COMAND unit, causing the radio tuner to change to the local Rap/Hiphop station. The bass vibrations of the illicit music will wiggle the volume level up to a point that the music will be heard by innocent bystanders. As a matter of self-defence and protection of others, the station cashier will be forced to rush your car with the metal baseball bat attached to Men's room key, beating the windows and body panels until the music is stopped..resulting in damage to your car.

Also you can set where your passenger mirror looks when put into reverse. To activate the mirror reverse feature make sure the passenger side mirror button is down, Then put car in reverse and adjust the mirror to what you want to see in reverse (example down to see the curbs), once completed put back into drive and the programming is done. If your ever backing up and dont want the mirror to move when in reverse push the drivers side mirror button to deactivate. To reactivate push the passenger button.

Last summer I was adjusting the mirrors, then didn't put the switch back to the passenger side and started to freak out when it didn't automatically dip. Turned out not to be a big deal, just had to have the switch back in the right place.
Funny how when one gets accustomed to little niceties, one can get all into a huff when they don't function as advertised....
Speaking of which, I wish that BOTH mirrors dipped when the car was in reverse. Our Land Rover does that, and it's a huge help when parking that thing.

next to the pump as well right?
