Cec??

Has anyone ever dealt with CEC?
Is it just me, or are they a group of &*^&-ups?
They are apparently the NA distributer for AC Schnitzer, and also sell MB some wheels.

I ordered an AC Schnitzer valve stem on July 10th, they charged $21. Its OK to rape me on the price, I needed it to get a car back on the road ASAP. They said they had it in hand, so I was expecting a couple of days delivery. 6 days later I receive the wrong one (yep, their fault, I was very clear about the application). Now every few days I hear it "has been sent" but still no joy.

Meanwhile my wife buys ebay items from Pennsylvania 3 times and these larger packages arrive no problem via regular US mail, all the way across the country, each time within 2-3 days!

And people complain about the dealers. At least the dealer can get their parts on time. Anyone else have any CEC horror stories?

In a couple of days, it will be 4 weeks for a $21 valve stem from THE distributer! YIKES, nice business model. Broadcasting about their crappy service is my reward for their, ahem, efforts. Maybe I'll never get the part now.

I hate that place. Snobby salesman and INSANE prices. I remember one time they wanted to charge my friend 300 dollars for an exhaust TIP on his e320. they do have a nice showroom though.

Mr Carillo(I believe thats his name) wont give a sheit unless you are a hollywood star on some big shot that is plunking down 20k for a new F1 lorinser kit or getting 22 inch Anteras for the Caddy. Sad but true, they gave me the runaround too!

Thanks guys, I feel better squawking about it, and at least their unadvertised reputation is hereby made more public.

This wasn't for my car, but a friend's and he cannot use it w/o this stupid $21 part, I feel like total crap for saying sure I can get it and send it to him, "NO Problem...."

I am sure they will send it some day, they just don't care very much...

Exactly...and it pisses me off too. Its like walking into say a gucci store and having their p.o.s salesman ask you to leave for no reason other than the way you are dressed(t-shirt and shorts). F-ckin tools have no idea. Its just bad business.

I own a tuning/media/apparel company and I used to own a huge very well know apparel company.I was going to build a feature car with them back in the day.The sales guys treaded me like a nobody and thats the last I ever dealt with or supported CEC.
I got to Brabus anyway. Brabus can have attitude, but they are real cool guys if you can get a chance to know them.
CEC is just a distributor anyway, what do they actually make.
Nothing. Its funny that you can have attitude when you are not even involved in R&D, Track Testing, or the core market. Just cause you work for a comapny thet sells high end stuff does not make you a rock star. CEC is an easy stop for boared LA rich people, Thats why they don't care about tuners who only spend thousands, instead of some rich guy who wants to look like us and spends tens of thousands.

I was there once. Just took some pics and left, so I didn't get no attitude that day. Oh well maybe I'll drop by to test them again in the future...

Resolution!

Well I'll stop banging on CEC now, they finally sent the part to me today, and now I have shipped it out So CEC will be out of my nightmares tonight. I have never been so happy to go to FedEx to ship something.

The inconvenience of this tiny part failure probably is a good lesson, not only use shops you trust, but also buy major components that later on, parts can be found for.

I think this valve stem caused even CEC a boatload of trouble, I bet the expedited shipping fees everyone ended up paying made this the worlds most expensive valve stem ever.

Thanks for letting me rant. Maybe everyone can learn from this.
BTW when I got it today it was shipped overnight air and contained 2 stems, so in the end, CEC actually tried to do the right thing.
