93 Octane and ECU
Hey guys,
I was wondering, do any of ya'll know whether cars shipped to states where 93 octane gas is readily available already have their ECU's switched to the "93" mode? or are all US cars set at default "91" mode, and I have to find a dealer to switch it for me?

I think all are shipped at "Base" setting. Rather than any "numbered setting". What Base EXACTLY means I am not clear about. It certainly does not mean it is suggested to run 87-89 octane. I believe all the settings are adaptive, but 93 will start in the correct range for 93 gas.
In TX set to 93. no doubt.
Mod friendly? call around and find one that will agree to install Renntech or Brabus for you. Then when you walk in with EvoSport they can at least speak the language of mods.

Yeah, I've seen a couple of other c32's around here. I've seen one nice silver one that's lowered and has mesh-type rims. Anyways, I think I might try and talk to one of the service guys at Mercedes Greenway Plaza or maybe drive down to the new one in Sugar Land. We should get a meet together in H-town. I live kinda close to Uptown park right around Memorial and Silber.

thanks for the reply. Your help is very informative as usual. Btw, You helped me resolve my decision on suspensions. I've narrowed it down to the Carlsson's or the Bilstein PSS-9. Gotta check the availability of both systems, but from what I gather, they're pretty much the same.

I've talked to the greenway parts guy over the phone and he said they send their cars to other places for renntech installs and it voids warranty right off the bat! (but then again this was just the parts guy) gotta talk to service. the new sugarland would be a good try, they took alot of the best ppl that worked at greenway to that one!

I've been wanting to go to HRP to see what the car will do stock. I just wish it were a little bit cooler. I guess this way, though, I'll find out what it'll run in less than ideal conditions =).

jon - ya in this weather the car does suffer a bit compared to fall - checkout the gatherings/meets forum
