my c32 dyno at 354.6rwhp

Hi everybody. I have been reading here for quite some time now and finally Im making my first post. I just got my car dyno today after installing the mods recommended on this site and the car feels awesome. The dyno numbers were very good, so I am very happy. Here is my dyno chart.

Here is my mods list.

Renntech pulley
Renntech ecu
Renntech air filter
SL55 y pipe
Header wrap with heat tape
Redline water wetter
Mobil 1 synthetic 0w20

the dyno run ended at 5700rpm and we did not have time to do more. The dyno operator says if we extend to 6000rpm where it shift there would be 10 more hp. The final numbers was 354.6hp and 356.2 torque.

Also when I did my baseline when car was stock, I got 275hp. I have lost the dyno sheet for the baseline.

What gear was the dyno run in? Also what octane fuel are you running?

I did all this mods all at once so I can not tell what mod make the biggest gain. The run was in 4th gear.

Excellent numbers...more than what Hartmut said I should expect...I wonder how much the SL55 pipe is worth...

Can someone explain to me how you do a 4th gear dyno run from 2000rpm without the car downshifting?

The fact that he did a fourth gear run explains alot. We always do third gear runs for accuracy. I am also not exactly sure how he did a fourth gear run from 2000 rpm?

I called the dyno operater today to ask how he did the run in 4th gear. He told me he did 3rd gear sorry for the confusion.

Either it was a fourth gear or a third gear run how did he get it to start at 2000rpm??? I have dynoed at different places and we could never get the car to do that because it would always down shift.

You have to do part throttle from 2000 to 3800 rpm and then it can be floored. After 3800 rpm, it won't kick down or so I have been told.

but when you part throttle to 3800 then floor it the charger ingages, the dyno graph should jump severly with the addition of boost.

By 3800 RPM, the charger is already engaged. In the dyno graph I think the change in the inclination of the lines at about 2900 rpm (more evident in the torque curve) is when the charger has started adding boost. Next time you dyno, give it a try, slowly increase throttle from 2000 rpm to over 3800 and then go to 100% throttle.

If I remember right, I did my dyno runs from 2500rpm on. I put my tranny in W mode, get into 3rd gear, and start at 2500rpm with 1/2 throttle, slowly easing up to 99% throttle before kickdown switch at 3500rpm. At that point, I go 100% throttle and it wont shift.

Works very well.

Yes, I understand what you mean. This is why the TQ is not flat prior to 3700 rpm. Car was at part throttle. The kompressor is allways engaged if RPM is higher than 2400.

Marcel: Good numbers. Do you know if they were SAE corrected?

SteveL: How do you like your cams? How is idle? Have you dynoed since installing them?

Idle is just a bit rougher but not much, very subtle. You can feel a little rumble at a stop light but you would have to be pretty savy to know that cams were actually installed. The testing I did, 60-120 mph runs showed a descent gain of about .35 secs quicker, about 4 car lengths - used an AP-22. Still haven't dyno'd. The place I go is pretty clueless. The last time I went it was 90 degrees and they didn't use a fan. The car was super hot and I felt like I just wasted $85. Next time I go, likely in a couple of months when it cools down, I'll bring my own fan.

SteveL: Thanks for the info.

If you ever down in So.Cal my free-dyno offer still stands.
