ESP questions with the C55

ESP questions with the C55
Hello everyone-
I am done for the week, but alas still in my office chair. So, to pass the time I figured I would run a question I've had by ya'll.
The ESP button the the C55, obviously it turns the stability protection down (but not off all the way) and displays a warning on the dash warning that your life is in your hands.
Why then, does it go back on sometimes when I am enjoying myself?!?
Sometimes it will last all drive, happy little yellow triangle looking back at me, no matter the distance or my aggressiveness with the car. Then other times I will look down to a vacant dash and/or, worse yet, get my fun neutered mid-way through by the alive-n-well ESP!

the car did it again on my drive home from BART. I turned ESP off and about 3 minutes into the drive, cruising at 35-40 mph, the triangle disappears! WTF?!?

When the car goes over 80mph, it turns defeats the over-ride but it shouldn't turn off, I run track days with it off for over 20 min and never had problems.

damn, maybe it is the grandma thing. I am usually seeing it making its own decisions after work, when I'm stuck in traffic..
