C32 vs. M3 SMG

from another board:

Well, went to the track tonight with my buds. Both have been trash talking for a while. Well tonight we saw what was up.

Well, this is how it went all night. LOL

The Benz was atleast .3-.5 faster then the M3 for every run. And a note...the M3 was not stock. It has some aftermarket catback.

As I've always said. C32 > M3

Best run of the night.
Benz = 13.0 @ 107
M3 13.6 @103
Enjoy

Nice M3 and also a nice C32 I dont think the M3 driver was very skilled he should come closer then that but the C32 is definetly faster overall. A video would really be nice.

Frozen- Agreed! Those C32 times are very good, but those times for the M3 are BAD! I think that with a skilled driver the M3 still would have lost, but it would have been closer. 13.0 is such a good time for a C32 that an M3 would have one hell of a time beating it!

COOOL!! first legal race win for C32.

I think that's about right for a skilled average driver in the M3. Motor Trend ran the SMG in 13.4. So I'd say that's about right. If that driver really don't know how to use the launch mode, it would've dropped to high 13s even low 14s, not like the mid 13s he's running.

the C32 is just fast if he really only has the lowering mod.

Wow!!! Finally, we can see some solid proof of a C32 beating up a M3. Yes, I agree that the M3 times should be better. But that is more or less the time what an average driver can do. Fortunately, I have yet to lose to a M3 during my 22 months of C32 ownership.

I was at the track last night trying to do a few runs of 1/4 mile, unfortunately, it was jammed packed. My car couldnt register. I saw a CL55AMG ran 13.46 got beaten by a Chevy TRUCK!!!!!!!

I see lots of new people at track that have never done it and have great fast cars but they arnt very comfortable with there cars yet or are not very skilled drivers.

The chevy trucks can be pretty quick now days with the gearing and the 6000 vortec engines if packed with a supercharger they can be really powerfull. But IMO there no match for ///AMG.

I forgot to mention the most important point: the truck was a DIESEL!!!! Can you believe that?????

I am the owner of the SMG M3 and to start just let me start by saying I have been drag racing for 12 years with real drag cars and I am good at driving the M3. I would have never got a 2.0 60 foot if not. As far as the 2 cars the owner of the C32 is Jim P and his car is 1 of 2 that ever went 13.06 at 106mph. So before everyone starts running their mouth maybe you should ask the 2 drivers what was going on. We made several high speed runs and the 2 cars where side by side. These 2 cars are dam close in performance and it matters who gets the jump. I am sure that Jim will chime in and agree. You also have to think of the heat and humidity last night at the track. I have to give to Jim P that he does have a really good running C32. So we will go back and have more fun with our luxury sport cars....

See ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that was me and my buddy from work.He just got the m3 and yes he can drive since he ran his viper to 11.00 132 on STREET tires and i have a 800 hp supra so we know whats up.The smg is very fast but the weather was killing us.My best to date is 13.07, bret (i think just sold his went 13.06 with 19 inch rims) I have ran many 13.0 with 1.97 60ft on p-zero tires but last night the heat limted me to 13.4 at 106.97 the mph was there put down low it was killing me 2.1-2.0 60fts. We did high end pulles also and the were side by side.We never got to really get them threw fourth gear so we will run on a cooler day then try this again. It was good fun,the cars are very close on top in the 1/4 mile i think the c32 has the edge at least last night. Well hope you guys liked it as much as we did! Hay bob whats next??? Dont make me put those pulleys in,ha,ha!

Nice looking E46, first off.

Secondly, you're right. Heat and humidity are good for superchargers and bad for normally aspirated engines.

In other news, Hell has officially frozen over.

Just to clarify best times last night....

C32- 13.47 @ 106.9 on drag radials

M3 - 13.60 @ 103.3 on stock tires

lets compare apples to apples and not the best run in good weather.

That was my error. I thought Jims last run was a 13.0. I know thats all he's run in the past. MPH tells all though

I posted pics for ya on the M3 forum

My understanding is that heat works against superchargers - in a significant way.

Heat is bad for any engine. Humidity is good for any engine (humid air has more oxygen content than dry air).

someone made a reference to me that in this picture. The C32 seems to have drag radial on the rear. Can you provide with more picture of the rear tire if it's not drag radial?

yes,I just put the nitto drag tire on and it is no better the my p-zero which i ran many 1.97-1.99 60ft on with a 1300 rpm boost launch.I could get no better then a 2.0 and on the13.4 I went a 2.1.I needed new tires so i got the nittos since they were cheap.I think when we go again in a few weeks i will get green filters and the sl wye pipe and run before and after runs.Bobs m3 got the 2.0 60ft also that night. The nittos are great on the street they do not spin on hard takeoff. As far as mods,**** this is a toy for me like bob said My supra is where the money is at!!!
