Command....wash. dc

Hello folks,
I wanted to say thanks for a wonderful forum you all have here. I have been reading quite alot, but rarely post. If it wasn't for the board I wouldn't have discovered Steve.

I recently had a command with the TV option and aux installed by Steve MBenzNL on my C32.

Steve was Great to work with, and he has my vote on any future mods to my car

Now that I have the Mod bug any recommendations from you all?

One last thing, wheres the rest of the C32 owners living in wash dc metro area?......would be nice to have a get together as those nice folks from Caly seem to have

Marc32 has the comand with future TV supporting possibilities...he does not have TV. I did another (C320) US comand install at his place WITH TV tuner (while in motion)...

Marc, thanks for the place to work, food, drinks and ride back to the hotel; it was nice meeting you!

MBenzNL,

I have the US version of the Command. I would love to have a TV in my car. Can you make this happen?

Thanks,

Hello Carl,

How do we go about getting us owners together for a meet?,
I really want to see those mods you have on your car
I got the mod bug, and I'm always open to suggestions for more speed. Would be cool if we could make it happen.

Hey Jon

Showing the command to you , wouldn't be a problem. I can call Bensitto, and have him meet us so you would be able to see command with TV tuner. I live in Rockville, so we aren't that far apart Maybe if we set a date in the near future we could get some more C32's out. Would be cool to see everyones rides

Your MB dealer can activate the TV button (easy - shouldn't take longer then 10 minutes)...but probably can't enable TV while in motion...I myself am only able to do that here in the Netherlands where I have stardiagnose with old software...

I have OEM MB TV tuners plus TV related parts in stock...

Hi Leo, the flight back was pretty good...finally some inflight entertainment I hadn't seen before yet. The hotel you booked me was very good as well - thanks for that.

You need a TV tuner (which has the size of a radio) wire harness from comand to TV tuner, TV antenna and TV tuner bracket...

COMAND external amps

Steve, am I correct in believing it is possible to add tv/ or at least video input, to my Canadian COMAND. Also, I have the non-bose version and wanted to add a good external amp. Is there any way to get "line-level" outputs from this unit? -I really want to get some quality hi-fi out of this thing, even if I have to go into it and solder them myself
TIA

Yes you can...you can even keep your CD drive and front and just get the tuner part swapped...(the actual swap is 10 minutes work).

The TV while in motion part is set in the tunerpart of the comand...

Steve, What about just VIDEO INPUT

If I don't necessarily want the TV tuner, but I do want the ability for video input (CD/VCR or Rear Camera so I can see my friends with the flashing red/blue lights before they see me ) and/or the ability to add an amp @ line-level inputs on an American/Canadian Unit (No-Bose), can I do this???

Yes, you can...which is a matter of time...I am getting PAL/NTSC compatible adapters to connect DVD to comand without using the TV and am trying to get Bose amps that are modified to make the useable to connect line amp's to the system without cutting a single wire...
These modifications take time though...time is something I hardly have...nevertheless I hope to have both items available soon...
