Did you get the conversion kit? i.e. The grill, bracket and hood lever? If so where did you get it and what did they charge? Time for me to get this out the way. Thanks

Thanks Rickschott, I see your headlights are a bit dull, maybe just the photo? If they are dull you must take it to a body shop, they light flat(sand) it and polish them up to look as good as new and don't cost much or you can do it yourself if you know how, will make a hell of a difference to your new upgrade These plastic lenses don't handle the weather so well.

Check out formymercedes.com. I purchased a kit from them as well as a flat hood badge.

Was the badge a genuine MB part? Why wouldn't it closed? I just purchased an OEM flat emblem on ebay, which makes me wonder now it it'll have the same issue as yours when closed.

no its no OEM and it doesnt close because the twisty part on the back that locks the badge too the hood is too long so it comes in contact with the middle support bracket on the CLK grille so you have to drill a hole in the middle of the bracket large enough for the badge to go through when you close the hood. Not a big deal but when you dont realize that at first and slam the hood down its a bit weary!

but make sure you keep the badge cleaned and waxed! it will rust like a **** and that clear coats cakes up and starts to degrade. Mine did within 5-6 months.

I actually canceled my OEM emblem because I discovered it wouldn't fit in the emblem recess, so now I am searching around for a colored, classic AMG badge 45mm in size, like yours. Who was your seller for the badge? I can't seem to find anyone that sell the size and color I need for that style. Thanks for the tip on the rust. I'll apply some clear coat on to prevent some of that.
