9.5 in rear.. why is it rubbing?
oh yeah and it mostly only rubs on the driver side
Benzino,
Can you post a picture of how low your car is. I think that you are probably at the point where you have to make sacrifices in wheel/tire choice in order to ride at that height.
Thanks,
Ben

It has to do with your tires also. Some tires have more squared sidewall and some are more rounded. What tire are you using???
but yes Mr. Harris is right, and confirmed by other tire stores, Toyo tires have a very rounded edge to them and they are less prune to rubbing then other leading manufacturers.. that being said, i have Pirelli P-Zero Neros (right now rated the best tire in it's class by TireRack) are still rubbing and i too have shaved the inside of my fenderwell but Mr. Harris suggested to replace teh spring pad with a "Taller" size which would help jack up my rear about some fractions of an inch.. Hopefully i get a chance to get around to doing it.
No wonder.....Pirelli tires all have squared sidewall design. IMO, P7000 is the worst tire money can buy in the world!!
k peps im about to give you the best ghettofab mod you can do to your benz but i dont think you all are ready to here it.. well here i go when i cut the rear spring a coil and dropped it with a # 2 pad the car sat wayyyyyy low like barely above the tire which is the ideal way for my car to sit BUT it rubbed non stop when i hit a dip and so i got my old # 2 pad a cut it in half about 15 mm i belive and put my stock pad on and it raise my car a good 2 inches and the pic of my rim thats the ghettofab job that it did for me so i think what im going to do when i get my car to stop rubing a little less is shave the rubber pad down to about 5 mm and throw the stock spring in and it will sit perfect.. dont flame please just giving you my ghettofab job which im getting patent soon.
i am sooo lost and confused
i guess i will end up getting toyo tires when my tires blow up. The rubbing leaving a mark on the side of my tire. why is it only rubbing on one side?
yeah y and do you think alot of the rubbing i here is the carpet in the wheel well? i cut alot of the side down but im thinking maybe i didnt cut enought its not and ugly sounding rubbing noise that im hearing either.
You have a problem with a tire width, or most likely offset. And with tires, not all 265's are the same width. S03's are known to be a bit more wide than say...a pzero rosso or pilot sport.
