UPDATE: Carbon Fiber Paddle Shifter DIY/ 3d Printing
I'm looking at these e46 M3 paddle shifters. I'm gonna cut some parts off and design an adapter that will stick to our stock button shifters without any mess or countless hours of disassembling and labor.
Here's is the link the the shifters I found. I will design in solidworks and 3D Print them at my workplace. I would be willing to sell the adapters please let me know if you're interested.

Mulac, i can only pront in ABS.... this is for prototyping.. i can design something no prob..... but it wont magically come out as a carbon fiber part unfortunately. what im saying is i can make parts up to 8x8x12 so a small platform to mount an ipad to ur vents for example or a plastic piece to replace a button on the center console for running wires... get me?

Understood...my knowledge of 3D printing isn't that great, what is ABS?
Thanks for offering to do this, the paddle shifters would be awesome!

Its a plastic with a long name.
I presume you would still need to pull the steering wheel apart? The stock buttons are pretty flat, not sure how they would attach?

Honestly, the '63' paddle shift mod isn't that difficult. It's not reversible of course, but then after using them, I wouldn't go back. If you're going to have to tear into the wheel anyway, then it's not such a huge step to retrofit the 63 paddles.
I wrote a DIY on it!
Have to be very precise with opening up the shift surrounds though.

That said, if you could make it such that the new paddles effectively clip onto the existing shift button, without modifying the shift surround, it would be a lot less headache and anxiety.

I can attest to what Saaboteur said- I love my 63 paddles and his DIY is really thorough! ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I'm sure you can use a strong adhesive to attach to the stock buttons, but the feel is completely different with true MB paddles. They have a really high build quality and positive feel when shifting. Worlds away from those stock rocker style buttons that clack every time you shift.

UPDATE!! Check it out
So i designed my own paddles this is just a prototype. Making the base compatible with any other plastic or carbon fiber paddles from ebay would be a piece of cake... I'll try these for now and post a few pics after theyre mounted to see if anyone is interested in buying some. they can be sanded, primed, and painted. I am printing the parts as we speak.. should be done in 1 hour.
Questions, concerns, comments..... please bomb me i need opinions

this project is very difficult, i only have access to the printer at work so the time i spend at work is dedicated to my actual job. therefore its taking longer. the paddles look completely different now. i cant show them until finished. they are aggressive as hell. for now check out my ipad mount design. i should be able to mount it and have a DIY up pretty soon.

Just upload your 3d file. they will print and ship to customers for you and take a cut of the revenue. But it'll make selling 3d printed goodies super easy.
PS. I'm interested in buying one.
