Question CEL for O2sensors and Cats - Solved!!!

Hello,

4 days ago car got CEL. after driving like this hour+ i noticed that when car stopped it shakes like abnormal.

I cheked it for error code, mechanic said to change o2 sensor primary cat on driver side, but before it i changed plugs to oem NGK and made fuel injection cleaning. after we changed the sensor. so we deleted error code.

After those started car and it was not so shaking, a little bit like normal. i drove around 2 hours and then CEL appeared again. we checked it P0152 error.

Mechanic said that my cats may have problem so i have to change them or delete.

Whats your suggestion? opinion?

Thanks

Try swapping the O2 sensors around and see the code travels to the other side. If it does, replace it with a new sensor or just delete the cats.

Well, i have changed the primary cats left sensor with new one. You mean i would swap left (new one) with right. then check for code. if it will give the same thing, P0152 it means i have problem with cats. But if error will show the right one it means i have to buy another sensor, too

Since both P0152 and P0154 are codes for O2 sensor on bank2, it seems like the problem is not related to the O2 sensor but more like the cat itself on bank2 or the cable harness. Being that diagnosing problems remotely is very difficult, my advise is worth exactly what you paid for it. I'm just using common sense.

Bank 2 - it is on the left side (driver) or ona right(passenger)?

well i want to go catalyc mechanic for checking my cats. if problem will be in one cat i will change both primary cats for universal catalytic convertors. What's your opinion? is the will be any problem or issue? Thanks

P.S. - Also CEL light sometimes is off. after while it appears

Hello all, so i chaged my primary cats to universal walker 81807 cats. But still my car shakes, got misfires cylinders and got the code P0155.

I swapped o2 sensors symtomps stays the same and error code too.

What i want to do to swap sensors before primary cat and see what happens. If everything stays the same, i think some wires harness maybe a problem.

Whats your opinion?

If your cylinders are misfiring, it's most likely due to the spark plug wires or ignition coils (more likely wires than coils).

I personally would have just gotten headers and gotten rid of the cats altogether if they are bad. Cats are $$$$$, at least the OEM are. Not sure what you spent on the ones you got but the MB cats are so expensive it's cheaper to just get headers.

Car is fixed and problem was in o2senosr before the left prim cat. it has very simple solution.

First of all i want to say that here in Azerbaijan, 90% car mechanics are dumb. Well when we checked the engine light error it said P0155 - it meas 02 sensor before left primary cat. computer mechanic said it is the sensor after primary cat, but i told him maybe we should change the first ones because error says to check them. but he told no, well i changed sensor ehat he told but it didnt help.

after that i bought new sensor (before left cat - 90% bosch) and we changed it, then started car and it was like new, everything was fixed. all cats and cylinders was very clear. car runs very smooth.

But before this fix i paid a lot money. i did these for my car:
1. Cleaned all injectors
2. Changed all plugs and wires
3. Changed fuel filter
4. Ordered some new cats (Walker 81807) from USA Autozone com
5. Changed my oem primary cats to them
After all of this my car still has the same problem (800$ spent)

So what i need to do is simple change first sensor of left primary cat

P.S. - If car has a problem just listen to car and see what your car says by error code
