Front stabiliser [ anti roll/sway ] bar

Hi folks.
I have the standard W203 & want to fit a thick front bar. Does anyone know if the AMG uses a thicker bar & how much thicker is it?
Thanks.

c32 22mm, ??mm hole ( I think 12mm)
c55 23mm, 12mm hole
eibach 24mm, 10mm hole
h&r 26mm, 12mm and 10mm

I you want more fun, biggest rear sway are a good option!

eibach 24/22 are good!

With air tools this repair can be completed within approximately 30 minutes per wheel - with hand tools the time varies between 30 minutes to several hours per wheel depending on how well / quickly the penetrating oil works and how badly the bolts are rusted / corroded.

The H&R front bar is 185.3% stiffer than stock.

The stock front bar is 460.2% stiffer than the stock rear bar.

The C32 front bar is 257.4% stiffer than the C32 rear bar.

The Evosport front bar is 154.6% stiffer than the Evosport rear bar.

The Eibach front bar is 41.6% stiffer than the Eibach rear bar.

The H&R front bar is 250.7% stiffer than the H&R rear bar.

PS: A larger front bar is going to make your car blow around bends, aka understeer like a pig.

Do like I did and get the larger HR rear bar and let the good times roll around the track and street.

I've been thinking of getting BOTH front and rear, H&R setup. What's your opinion on that? I would think the front sway in addition to rear would improve the handling.

Yeah, that's what Robert (Lenin) has on his car. That's the other option I was looking into but I cannot for the life of me find the Eibach sway bar for this car! Does anyone know where to look? Maybe they stopped producing it...

Did you install both at the same time? I'm considering upgrading the front bar, already have the eibach rear.

The rear bar has definitely helped but I feel the car lacks turn in, even with bilstein HDs valved to h&r springs.

Maybe I could buy this and sell the front one on its own: http://www.ebay.com/itm/EIBACH-2564-320-24mm-FRONT-22mm-REAR-SWAY-BARS-02-04-MERCEDES-W203-C-CLASS-/181383086657?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a3b464241&vxp=mtr
If it fits the pre-facelift 203 models, should be the same for the C55 right? For the rear one I mean. I know AMG has 12mm end links in front, but the rear are all the same, 10mm?

I have the H&R front and rear set. I would recommend doing both to retain a good balance. They completely transform the handling of the car, especially with my H&R springs.

Will also sell my standard AMG ones for the right price....

I disagree. With both front and back H&R bars, the car is a lot more neutral, less understeer than standard (to be fair, standard bars and springs on the c32 handle shockingly)

I've driven hard at trackdays with the bars and the car is a lot more predictable, and there is no spap-oversteer that I got a lot of on stock setup. It felt so good that there wasn't even a thought of running with the esp or traction control on. Saying that, the Pirelli setup I run was probably helping that a lot.

I've been contemplating this for the past week and I think you just induced that light tap to push me over the edge and get these things

I've been trying to find the 22mm Eibach rear and complement it with the 26mm H&R front and since the Eibach was discontinued I can't find it anywhere, so I'm just going to go with the H&R setup on both ends. Thanks!

This is the front. Doesn't look thicker in this photo, but there is a hell of a difference in real life, and the actual bar is so much stiffer. Didn't take a pic of the rear for some reason.

Also remember to lubricate the rear bushes that come with them, as mine is squeaking like mad and I'll have to drop it and lube it!

Also, I wouldn't bother with the softer setting, just go straight to the hard setting as I did. Never once had a 'moment' that's made me think they're too stiff.

Thanks for the pics

Any special kind of lube I should use for the bushings?

I've used this stuff on my rear sway bar, as well as on my other cars. Works like a charm and no going back to redo it!

I think I will make the jump for that 26mm fsb

Disagree with what

YES using BOTH bars is a better option, but I found the rear alone and used it. Cured ALL of the stock understeer.

If you have the money, then YES get both.

Just please don't say you disagree about the larger front bar by itself
