What kind of 1/4 Mile is possible with 'stage 2' mods (365 RWHP)?

At what RWHP/TQ can the C32 expect to run flat 12's at 113 MPH or better at sea level on street tires with 93 octane and a great driver? Does the $5,000+ Stage 2 set of mods achieve this performance? If not, what kind of 1/4 mile could one expect under those parameters with the stage 2 mods?

Edit: what is the fastest 1/4 mile time recorded for a modded, daily-driven C32?

I've asked EVOsport what kind of times they expect with the stage II. Ben said 12.0-12.2 with some sticky tires.

That's what I'm looking for. I figure 13.0 stock (300 RWHP), 12.5 @ stage I (335 RWHP), and 12.0 @ stage II (365 RWHP).

Let's get a bulk deal going on stage I conversions in the first 1/4 of 2004. I'd like to be able to drive my car to a shop, drop it off, stay over night in a hotel, wake up go to the shop and stroke a check for an even $2K and drive off with Stage I complete. How many C32s would need to be lined up to get that kind of a deal?

Ben, have you guys done any R&D with 190mm crank pulleys? If so, what kind of boost/ RWHP would they give? Maybe we should advance the state of C32 mods and get a pile of beasts upgraded to that level of tune. If its okay to run the kind of boost that results on just premium pump gas.

Kevin

Hmmm. Guys are doing 12.9 in stock C32s on those tires. Shouldn't we be able to drop a full second with the extra 105 crank HP? After racing that Viper I'm thinking I really need some wider (9.5"?) rims in the rear for greater traction. Especially to handle the extra torque that the mods will be putting down. From a performance standpoint I'm considering some ultralight forged rims that will drop 5-8 lbs per corner of unsprung weight. I think the Volk LE37s may be my solution. Now where am I going to find $2-$3K for mods and $2-$3K for new wheels & tires?

If there is a group buy, I'd be interested in late winter/early spring. I'm not planning to drive my C32 much during the winter months, especially in the snow & salt. I'd be interested in the stage 2.

Cool. That time frame suits me as well. We need to hook up with a good tuner that will give us a nice break on price. I've heard that the harmonic dampener is something to be sure our tuner uses in the mods. We can probably get 10-20 C32 owners lined up by March. Tuners, anybody up for submitting proposals for our group buy needs?

A harmonic dampner is not necessary according to Evosport. I do not believe their pulley system incorporates it, though the Renntech one does.

So far Evosport seems to be the most focused tuner with regards to the C32. Others seems to just slap on a pulley with second rate software and not so much R&D.

I would have to say Evo Sports pulley kit is the best out there. 12.6 is my best so far on street tires. But I have alot of new stuff on my car I want to try out really soon. If anyone else wants to go to the track on Sat I will definetly go!

It looks like we're up to 4-5 possible for the group buy. I want the harmonic dampener incorporated into any mods on my pulleys. I'm sure Evosport can include it even though they may not feels its required. Once we get to 10 interested parties on this group buy I'll start calling tuners.

to try and round up 10 legit buyers is not only tough but a serious headache. We should look into sticking with 5 or so, and seeing what that brings us. What do you guys think?

we can ask evosport for gb prices for 5-10 buyers (I would think at least 5 for gb.) then we'll just see how many buyers we can get by the end of winter/beginning of spring.

kevin - do you want to be the one in charge asking evosport?

You can't just add a harmonic dampner, either the crank pulley has it, or not.

A harmonic dampener is designed to absorb torsional and vertical vibrations from the crank. Essentially, the crank "jumps" every combustion cycle, which can cause the crank bearing to wear out more quickly, or in the worst case scenario, the crank to break.

Our engine is smooth, and because of the "over-drive" configuration of the evosport kit, the pulley system should run smoothly without excessive vibration. Hence, the harmonic dampener, not really necessary.

I have a Renntech programed ECU. I have been thinking of sending it to Evo Sport. They will charge me $1400.
