Does anyone have air-conditioned armrest?

I read over on the W203 C-class forum that the C-class has an air-conditioned armrest storage compartment. Mine doesn't have it, although I do see what appears to look like vents inside the armest storage compartment. Just curious if any C32 or C55 owners have this feature.

Are you sure it's not referencing the AC/Heat vents attached to the back of the center console housing for the rear passenger compartment?

Small compartment under you elbow rest, lower section. It's cool there because a/c is blowing in side.

eclectic assortment of cars
There was a very rare option on the 202 cars with a refrigerated storage console. Moving ahead in time, our 2006 Land Rover LR3 has a fridge in the storage console too. Very handy for road trips, holds four cans of pop, or four small bottles of water.

Well the thread stated that you can keep your soda pop cool in the compartment, so it's got to be the storage compartment under the armrest. I actually had my A/C on full blast and didn't feel any A/C blowing inside the lower section of the elbow rest.

Definitely handy for road trips or summer months. Wish my C55 had it.

If your car has A/C vents on the back of the armrest you have armrest box cooling. The vent corridor runs down each side of the center console to the rear vents. If you set your A/C control to where it blows out the back vents the air will cool down the armrest box.

I have a 2005 C55 and 2007 C230 and it works this way on both cars.

The box is a fan. The rear vent has a roll up knob (like the front vents to open or close the vent) for increasing/decreasing speeds for the rear A/C.

I tried messing with this during my lunch break today, but still don't feel any air on the inside of the armrest box.

What A/C control settings are you referring to? The roll up knob on the rear vents are fully opened and blowing air.

On my 02 c32 the box would not blow air inside the arm rest. The rear A/C only blows cold air if the main A/C unit is on. The cold air passing through the rear fan would cool the space inside the arm rest but not very much.

My C320 has rear air and it gets pretty cool on the center console. Cool enough that it causes condensation on the outside of the console. So it could keep a can cool but not cold.
