Ticking sound when idling?
I took a friend of mine for a ride recently in my '02 C32 and after we stopped he asked me to pop the hood. He had heard a ticking sound which I missed. But we both heard it clearly when standing right next to the engine bay with the hood open and the car idling.
The sound (a repeating ticking sound) is coming from somewhere in the engine bay. From outside the car, if the hood is closed its nearly inaudible. From inside the car, the ticking can be heard if the stereo and ventilation are turned off. The sound appears to disappear when the engine runs faster than idle.
Is this normal? If not what might be the cause, and how serious is it?

it's the purge valve. I had it changed. The noise was gone for a while then came back only not as loud as before.
