New '05 C32

I received this reply email back from one of the customer service reps at www.modernracer.com re: the C32 AMG.

Looks like for '05 the C32 will receive the E55 V8 engine!

"However, the next AMG C-class coming
out by the end of the year will have the E55 V8, and the next BMW M3 (called M4) coming out two or three years from now will also have a V8. Strong stuff."

The C55 is rumored to be available for order in February, I am actively trying to confirm and put a deposit on a car. However it is not the Kompressor engine found in the E55, it is the NA version used in the CLK55 or similar to it.

last I heard it's probably gonna be 500-1000 or more than the C32. Consider what you get, it's still a bargain IMO.

From what I read about the SLK55, the performance numbers are pretty much identical to the SLK32 kompressor...so I can only assume they're gonna be about the same for the C55 vs C32 kompressor.

Very true, soundwise I can never even get close to a V8.
However the 370 HP will not even come close to the 430+ HP I have now.
Tuning the V8 will give it back the edge, but I assume that is gonna costs lotsa $$$$

You still have a six cylinder. I have no interest in modding the engine. Besides, its a long ways from Belgium to Arizona so I feel comfortable trash talking with little worry that I will ever have to back it up.

I think it may even be possible that the V8 will be lighter than the SCV6. Those compressors are a pretty substantial chunk of metal.

why no kompressor ? That sucks the regular 55 v8 will probley be as quick as the regular C32 but just want to join the v8 group like the S4 and the future m3. If it had the kompressor they would probley worry to much about that the e55 sales would drop.

v8 + a kompressor that's bigger and heavier than the kompressor for the v6 stuff in a small sedan = nose heavy

the NA 5.4 liter v8 I believe as some of the member had said weights about only slightly heavier than the V6 kompressor that's in the C32 right now.
