C55 front bumper part no. question

Hey Guys,

I searched the forum and Goggle but couldn't find the answer to my question.
I need a new front bumper for my C55. The stealership tells me the part no. for my C55 with head light washers is 203 885 5525, but wants $1,500 for the cover. I found that same cover from an online benz dealer for $950, but found what appears to be and was advertised as the right part for my car, second hand.

However, the part no. for that second hand bumper is 203 885 1925. Can anybody here tell me if that bumper will fit my C55; i.e. if 203 885 1925 is the old superseded part no. for the C55 bumper cover? -- note: I don't care if the replacement bumper cover comes with or without headlight washer openings.

I'd also be eternally grateful if someone who knows could list the part numbers for all the front bumper covers that would fit an '05 C55.

Thanks

Wow, searching for a front bumper cover for a W203 is confusing for a simpleton like me.

Below is the list I could come up with by cross referencing 5 different parts websites, they are all supposed to fit the C55 AMG. In the U.S.A., I think we only got Avantgarde style cars, but maybe someone else can chime in on that. Does any one have a C55 with factory installed Parktronic in the U.S.A?

What you need is access to the EPC, punch in your VIN and it SHOULD tell you precisely which part number you need.

Also, forum member 'greekspec2' has some posts with a lot of part numbers and their differences as well. Try searching for his posts, should be able to find something useful.

Guys, thanks so much for the information you posted. But I still really need to know whether bumper cover, part no. 203 885 19 25, will fit my 2005 C55.

If Rahulio's list is exhaustive (thank-you), only 203 885 (50, 51, 52, 53, 54 & 55) 25 will fit.

I still wonder if 203 885 19 25 is an old part no. that will fit the C55?

I do not think 203 885 19 25 will fit your C55. I say this only because when I type that number and search Google images, not one of the bumpers has the design features of the C55 bumper, it looks like a standard W203 bumper.

Remember, the C55 has the body shell of the W203 but the front clip (A pillars to front (I think) of the W209. (The CLK)

W203 and W209 bumpers are very similar at first glance, but are not interchangeable.

When looking for a bumper pay close attention to the two points that is between the city light (closer to the front grill) and the head lights (closer to your front wheels) on the bumper. If it is small and smooth, it is a regular W203 (i.e. C32, C320, C240) bumper. If it is sharp, and more pointy, it is a W209 style (C55, CLK55, etc) bumper. I realize you can't see every bumper you are probably searching online for, but at least you have the number the dealer gave you which you know is the exact replacement.

Thank you very much for the description and visual aid to compare the C55 bumper to other W203 bumpers. This helped me immeasurably. The second hand part I found definitely will not fit. I will have to keep searching. Thanks again -- being a part of this group makes owning my AMG a joy.

Don't waste your time searching only one that will fit is the c55 or CLK63 bumper the CLK63 will require additional expensive parts though. Finding a used C55 in a wrecking yard is almost impossible with the production numbers.

CLK63 bumper for the win!

cracked my bumper on the highway 2 years ago and the price of the clk63 bumper was the same as the c55 so got it instead. sure a few extra parts were needed but well worth the look is 10x better! way more aggressive. plus I got the one with the holes for parking assist so I can add that mod in the future without the need for a new bumper
