Who knows the PRODUCTION numbers for 2003 C32 AMG?
I asked this in another thread, but figure maybe it got lost with all my other questions.
Does anybody know where I can find the number of 2003 C32 AMG's that were produced? Or maybe you just know the numbers?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Take care,
Nate

try running a search,
I don't know if any hard numbers can be given but if you look at how the introduction press releases they note how many they planned on churning out a year. I would say somewhere from 4 - 5k cars made. This is a total guess on my part so I may be way off.

That sounds about right, even if it was low, i doubt its more than 5000. This is pretty damn low in the world of car production which = good things for C32 owners. Every year there will be less and less C32's on the road due to things like being totalled. Resale value willl remain steady even with the release of new AMG models.
M3 numbers are many times more than the C32. This is clearly seen by the hundreds for sale on autotrader and other car classifides, while you see less than 50 for sale across the US. Also, I see 5 different E46 M3 lemmings in town Vs my single C32. :p

Production numbers
Anyone know how many of the 8100 C32s were produced without a moonroof? (probably not, but I thought I'd ask anyways). Any of you out there with a moonroofless C32? If so, what was your production date?

Moonroofless C32
My C32 was built without a moonroof. On a different thread, someone mentioned that there were a handful of early production 2002 C32s which did not have moonroofs and that, besides mine, there was at least one other in the crowd with a solid roof. I'm just curious if we are talking about 5 or 50 or 500 that were made.

Yes, mine was produced without a moon roof, but it was done in error. My dealer got me a partial refund for the mistake. I picked up the car in Sindlefingen, on the Euro delivery plan. Mine was manufactured in March, 02.

Thanks for the reply RapidG. I called MBZ and they said that "moonroof delete" is a no-cost option, but that very few cars have been ordered this way. For those of you future C55 owners out there who plan to race your car, this would seem to be a good option to check. I guess that, all other things equal, I would prefer the moonroof (but since I don't have it am trying to convince myself otherwise)
FYI: Tom at Evosport mentioned something about a couple of people (Vadim?) whose C32 moonroofs have actually failed (i.e. shattered) at high speeds.

2002 C32 Amg
I got my C32 on December 28 in NH and the V# was very very close to the 625.
I put my order in March 2001. My dealer who was the only other person to order a C32 got his on December 21, 2001 and he was very close to mine if that helps??
At the AMG lounge some guy is saying 625 but not sure where he got that #.
The dealer did say that 2001 was a smallest # made by AMG but again I have no concrete facts.

Vehicle ID NO.
The one that MB uses when you bring your car in for service that is printed on the order for the service work. The one that you registered your car with in your State.
It is on visible from the driver side window, stand outside of the car look down as it has it's own little box.

These are correct numbers for US units. Another reason to scratch our heads and wonder why the values suck so bad. Over three years and a mere 2600 units are out there -- pretty limited.
Give this car about 5 - 10 years IMO and people will realize what it is and represents.
