FutureAMGxx's C55 Build Thread

This is the one out of the c32 setup (probably exactly the same). My kit is from Needswings, but you could probably find some universal filters similar to them on ebay or something. I like the Needswings kit better than a diy kit because they include replacement pieces all the way down to the throttlebody. Making it wider/less restrictive all the way past the MAF!

Thanks for the reply, the build looks great. If I had a little bit more money I would get the Needswings kit as well. I hate that the plastic air box on my car covers up the engine.
#103
Thanks! I agree, I've seen a few guys with C55 and CLK55 retrofit the 55k airbox and it looks pretty cool since it exposes the intake manifold!

Hey man. You mind posting up that part number of the MAF you ordered for future referrence as well as a pic of your other side under the car just like the one in post 97 pls.
#105
The MAF I ordered is Bosch part #0280217810. I ordered it on Amazon. Make sure to select 'Sold by: Amazon.com LLC' to ensure you get an unopened Bosch genuine part. They are also eligible for Prime as the cheaper one's aren't. I will get some more pictures of the headers tomorrow!

Wow amazing C55! Ignore my message on the picture thread as I was viewing pictures of your car that were when you first got the car lol. So yes...you got plent of carbon in your life now i see haha. I like the needswings look. How loud is your car? I have no resonator, no mufflers, some tune by previous owner, im not sure about the headers....they look old but are a bronze color... I just wish I knew how to post a new thread LMAO so I could post some videos and not hijack other threads haha duuurrrr

Thanks for the photos. I have seen some other photos of kleemanns over the years and just wanted to see how their welds and grinding are these days. That is the tidiest merge collector I have seen from them, looks great. I would put a ruler (or straight edge) over the flange and make sure it is straight and the bolt holes are all in line. I think their quality control is pretty good but someone on here had a problem with a bolt hole being off. Better to find out before the install. Kleemann replaced it asap I seem to remember.
I think I will get some of these when the time comes. The main hp gains are to get rid of the extremely restrictive stock flange at the end of the stock headers. This will do that nicely. The guy at the shop showed me some beautiful 4-1 merge collectors with perfect taper point etc but the extra 3hp really isn't worth another $2k. I am sure you will let us know how you find them.

Btw... Op has a nice car!

A month or two ago at 76,350 I replaced the idler and tensioner pullies and the belt. The tensioner developed a small squeak.
I also replaced the engine and cabin air filters. All parts from fcpeuro, lifetime warranty!

Just finished the install of the bilstein b16 pss9 coilover kit. It gives the car a nice ride and let's me adjust the ride height at all 4 corners. This kit also has 9 different firmness settings that adjusts the valving inside the shocks.
At the same time I went ahead and and put on new strut tops and new sway bar end links!

Hi....
Are these the B16 PSS9 with the electric suspension system? If so, what's the part #? Tire Rack shows Part# 48-088602 but the website picture is different than what you installed. Also, did you leave the ride height per oem specs or did you lower the ride height?
Thanks...
Rob

Future.
Here's the url which shows the pic for the Bilstein B16 Electronic Suspension System for a C Class. Then you can choose an option for the C55 and your install pics match that strut/shock system. https://www.autoanything.com/suspens...pension-system

Oh okay, that's cool. The b16 for our models is manual dampening adjustment then? Maybe the electronic one is for the newer cars with the different ride styles settings in the computer. I think I prefer it being manual adjustment anyway instead of trying to wire some kind of aftermarket switches to the inside!

I had been watching them for a year or so and I purchased them last fall when they got marked down like 3% so it was something like 1450 plus tax or so.
